Maybe that is so quiet...Wish all my guns were as quiet as this thing.. Al _________________   Posted: Mon Jan 04, 2010 11:25 pm kanyon Silver Status Member Joined: 09 Aug 2008 Posts: 1582 Location: New Zealand Ok....With the boss valve it is ment to get 17 full power shots "yer right"....more like 7 ....So I'm going to convert it to HPA/PCP by puting a 13oz 3000psi tank on it....Now how much pressure should/ could I put though the valve. 1400psi ..The tank will be feed stright into the valve so pressure in the co2 cartridge tube is not a issue.. Wouldn’t it be better to screw the adapter straight into the valve unit? So there will only be 1400psi on the seal.... If it did leak I could always go to plan 2..just don't know what that is yet.. If you do, you will need to go Delrin.... Incidently, AirGunEric carries the same 13 cu.in. tank regulated to 1500 psi a bit cheaper than JDS.... in Canadian funds, too.... 1800 psi is about the max for a Crosman tube for safety.... You should make sure that the regulator is equipped with a 1.8K burst disc to insure that a regulator failure doesn't put 3000 psi into your gun.... although the setup you made may well stand that, I have no idea.... I'm guessing you should be in the 850-900 fps range with a Boss Valve running on 1400 psi.... depending entirely on the hammer spring tension, of course.... One thing you may not have noticed is that the valve stem sticks out about 1/16" further on the Boss Valve than a stock valve.... B&A do this to get extra "lift" on CO2.... but at high pressures, you will lose performance because the hammer won't have as much momentum when it hits the valve stem.... Actually, it's a pretty simple matter to drill out and tap the front end of a Crosman valve to 1/8 NPT and just use pipe fittings.... Bob Hi thanks.... that stainless adaptor will easly handle 3000psi but you do bring up a good point....I will drill a releif hole in the tube in case of a valve failer that could cause a seal leak & pressureing the tube.... I never took any notice of the valve pin...thanks Eric has tank/valve ...."gives Eric a wave"...
