Using say the Crosman 14.3 premier pellets, what is max distance for efficient kill (squirrel) found a site selling them for $130.00 .At that price I'll go for it IF it has decent kill zone. Thanks in advance for your experience.-Rodger

35 yards.

Indoors it should remain accurate further, but power is a concern while hunting. Try to stay 25 and under, but 35 will still be within the grasp.

COOL BEANS !! Thanks for quick response......so in other words, if I do my part (head shots) then the rifle will do it's part....I love the way it looks and it only weighs only half of the Stormxt, and it's .22 caliber ALL GOOD. Now, if the cartridge is left screwed into gun (say half-full ) how quickly will it leak down ?? Don't know that I'd shoot a full CO2 cartridge everytime I took it out hunting/plinking/target practice....are these guns prone to leak?

Seriously though, it's like I said when I first signed up here I KNOW NOTHING about today's air rifles/pistols....and at my age I'm no longer hesitant about asking question(s) that may seem dumb to some .The level of experience here is simply staggering...I mean this site ROCKS !!. Since buying the Storm XT on 11/16/09, I've put over 1,200 pellets through it ,and the more I shoot it, the more I WANT to shoot it...so like you, I can see me owning more than 1 air powered toy, be it rifle or pistol Mr. Green

I'm hooooooked. I mean I've already welded up two metal frames for target practice..one has spinners, the other is just swingers-too heavy to spin - The more ya know, the better off you are, regardless of what it is. And FWIW, you along with some others, have such a wealth of information that it seems only fair that ya share. So, as usual, thanks for quick reply and for the heads up about the 2250xt GURU. I shall PM him here shortly.

I have an 2250 and when I shot field target with it I would miss the 50 yard target by 4" using the mil dot scope so they will shoot, I love mine I made inserts for the stock and a huge scope and I was ready to shoot at ft matches. mine has about 1oo chipmunk kills almost that many limb rats. good luck

Thanks for that information...Just so happens that I have a clear area in my back yard that is 47 yards, measured with one of those surveyor's tapes. I have 20/20 vision and to be honest, at that distance I have difficulty even seeing a squirrel, much less picking one off with a rifle. So what that means is that the 2250 will do just fine for my application. On the spinning targets frame I built, I can't make out the 2" x 2" target except by looking through the scope. So as is, the 2250 is good for me-if I find someone that can do a "tune-up" on it I have more than enough for quick/clean kills (providing I can hit them..HA !HA!).. So, thanks for the good news... BTW--what pellets do you find the most accurate?
