First of all, this is what the target looks like:

I'm not sure is that image is full size, but it will give you a pretty good idea of what is involved.... Shocked

Here are a couple of typical 10M Air Rifles:

However, you could start with something like this to see if you have the talent:

Ask Oatring for advice.... 10M is his thing....and Good Luck.... Wink

Competition air pistols are very expensive. Was looking through my catalogue yesterday and saw some for just under $3,000.

That's a drop in the bucket compared to the costs for hiring a coach, traveling to competitions, etc. You're going to need a sponsor.

USA Shooting is the sanctioning body for Olympic shooters from the U.S. Check them out for more information on how to get started:

my friends and i in l.a. area we all shot the international style 10 meter air rifle events ..mainly we shot againest each other in one of my friends backyard there for i what i called the weekend warrior class of shooters in the sport ..plus a few made up games to keep the sport from getting boreing from just shooting only 10 meter air rifle ..one of the games was mini palma rifle match and the 10 meter brenchrest useing a fixed power 4-x-power scope as brenchrest match ..we shot both matchs indoors and outdoors when the weather was bad we shot indooors where we could find the space to pratice and outdoors in the summer time and winter time when the weather was not that bad and we could shoot in the backyard for shooting ..

i know that i will never be at the level in which the pros are at when shooting and that does not bother me for me it the fact for a couple of hours the world is blocked out and i some down time from the world and it the ways of modern ways with cell phones and someone allways trying to get something from you ..

do what to see something funny give a so called great shot with a centerfire rifle and let them shoot a air rifle and watch them go down hill from the not have a perfect follow though that a air rifles teachs you to do for each shot ..for i use the rifle to pratice when i have to go the range and qual here and there for my job along beening able to pratice without a long drive to a rifle range that will handle a 400 yard or more rifle range out the county area i..

do you know that david tubb of the great rifle shooters of our time use a 10 meter air rifle to pratice for he says it a lot easlyer to go outside his backyard and shoot a few pellets than to get everything togerther then drive a hour or so to pratice with the regular rifle ..and he tells everyone about use a air rifle for pratice

plus iam getting a Theoben mkII 22.cal air rifle for hunting small game and pest control around my little hobby farm
