Hello
Just picked up a Hammerli Pneuma pre charged in .177. I am new to precharged air rifles.
My question is, what kind of air pump do you recommend? Or should I buy a scuba tank? If so, what do I look for in a tank?
I had my PCP out to the range today. It had air in the reservoir, and I was able to get on paper with an RWS scope. Looks like its going to be a fun gun to shoot! |

Get an air tank (SCUBA/SCBA) and save yourself alot of pumping. Plenty of used tanks out in the world, just make sure you get one with a current certification (i.e. from a dive shop or such).
How do you like the Pneuma? I personally haven't seen much about it posted anywhere.

I like the thumb hole stock and the balance of the rifle. It also seems to make good power- Even at 50 BAR, it was punching through a plastic water bottle full of h20.
So far my only complaint is the very small air gauge. To look at it means looking down the end of the barrel. Kind of disconcerting.
I will take your advice and start looking for a scuba tank. |

The conventional wisdom seems to be to get a scuba tank, but what if the nearest dive shop is a 7 hour round trip away? Where can you get a scuba tank filled besides a dive shop?? What does it cost?

| People tell me that often firehalls in smaller communities will refill tanks- but I've never tried this myself. |
