I am looking for some help IDing this rifle. My parents bought it for me back in the 70's and it needs some work (the co2 leaks out) anyway I would like to fix it but am hoping some one can give me some information on it.
the barrel says "TAIYO "JUNIOR" 177cal JAPAN" that is all the information I have.
Can anyone help?

Sniper,
thanks for the welcome, I looked at the 160 and you are correct it does look like a varriant. with that in mind the silver knob in the back of the rifle is what is used to "charge" the rifle to be fired...
I do not know if that helps or not

Don't you mean to cock? As I assume this rifle is pretty much pre charged with a Co2 cartridge...
I think that "Taiyo Junior, made in Japan, Co2 rifle, based on Crosman 160, .177" is pretty much all the info you will find, on this rifle. I wouldn't mind people to prove me wrong though.
Just check out which size those O-rings are, and get some in that size from your local hardware store, or check around online for the sizes. They usually do, and are sometimes even better then the original. That's the case with a QB78, which is also pretty much a copy from the Crosman 160. |

Broommaster,
You are correct it would be cock the rile, I do not know why my brain could not think of that word at the time I was writing the post, I guess it must be the new guy thing.
I was really hoping for some idea about how to disasemble the whole thing to get to the "O" rings. I mean the take down screw is a no brainer but it was getting into the inner workings I was hoping to find out about via a schematic.
you are correct also in that it uses 12 gram pre charged Co2 cartridges...
any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is the most information I have ever seen. Now does anyone know how to go about finding some schematics or can someone give me an idea as to where to start disasembly?

I ain't that good - time for someone else to shine.
In the mean time, let's assume that they copied more than just the lines of a Crosman 160. Maybe this will serve as a general guide:

Be careful Slavia, that lamp must be from France.
I think what's stamped on the gun is exactly what you have. Everything has been said. |
