"Target Shooting and Hunting" has been split into two separate areas.
"Airsoft and Paintball" is gone- replaced with "Antique, Collectible and Novelty Airgun Topics".
The Regional Forums have been combined in a more "continent specific" manner- although the entire Southern Hemisphere is one area at the moment. Maybe if worldwide membership grows large enough, the day will come when we split back to country-specific areas.
No other changes are planned for the time being.
The site 'slogan' has been finalised by vote: It will be "Beyond Limits". |

"Tweaking" things is a never-ending process.
I still have to create a good "links" page, but I did manage to get the Converters/Calculators online:
http://airgunhome.com/pages/calculators.html
The poor homepage is starting to get a bit crowded, though:
http://airgunhome.com
Once the links page is done (some day...) I can get rid of the "Links to Government" and "Documents and Links" forums, the "Clubs and Activities" can get moved into the "Regional Discussion" area and then we'll be better streamlined for any really useful forum ideas that might come up.
As for "moving up"- our traffic 'numbers' are constantly growing, we are outperforming at least a few other sites that have been around alot (ALOT) longer- but they are manufacturer and/or "gun" specific- so that's not the biggest challenge. Our posts are starting to climb ahead based on daily volume vs. at least one 'startup' forum in the last year that was looking pretty solid, for awhile. I know we've made at least one of the bigger (major) forum owners a bit nervous- so much so he created a whole new platform that is obviously intended to try and "shift" the existing users upon as quickly as possible. Really, short of some catastrophic failure- we've got nowhere to go but "up" from this point forward. |

what if on the homepage you just made a separate page for the Forum useful topics and put a link to it up with the calculator and target downloads and stuff? That would make it less crowded. And what if, for example, you just have "airgunhome shooting competition" be the actual link for that page instead of having the link next to it? I know it takes time to write the code for all this stuff so it may not be a good idea. It'd be less crowded though. |

Yes- the 'titles' could also be the links. I'll probably leave the page about where it is for now, and as other things get added, they will go to another "index" sort of page. Either that or create a table of some sort with resources listed within it. |
