I have been shooting air rifles/BB guns for over 30 years and, It seems I don't know a lot about precision airgun shooting  What should the parallax compensation be on an air rifle scope? 30, 35, 100 yds?? In need of a scope with AO, BTW. Got a question about it on the accessories thread. |

The correct answer is whatever range you are shooting at.... 
AFAIK, non-AO centerfire scopes are parallax corrected at 100 yards, and rimfire at 50 yards, in most cases.... You certainly don't want 100 yards, and even with 50, you will likely find considerable parallax error at 10 yards.... assuming you can even focus on the target that close, you won't be able to with higher magnifications.... 
You can probably get away with a 4X rimfire scope, but with AO scopes being so easy to find, why would you bother?....
