Have you checked deeper into PCP rifles?.... great power, easier to shoot accurately than a magnum springer, but they do require either a pump or SCUBA tank to fill.... Even with a tank, you can get a very nice setup within your budget.... Even a Discovery, the entry level PCP rifle, has as much power as a 350 or 460 magnum.... Shocked

Hi..welcome..
All 3 rifles are very good...
the 2 Diana's being spring powered
are the hardest to shoot as spring guns
have a double recoil efect....that can make
them senstive to the way they are held...

The FX monsoon being a PCP
PCP = pre charged pneumatic
Has next to no recoil...but they do
have a limited shot count on a charge..
And with a PCP buying the gun is only
the start...You will need a pump to fill
it..with can take up to 150 pumps..
And its not easy to pump to 3000psi
Or you can use a scuba tank with a fill
station...which is more $ for the set up..
And you have to have somewhere to
get the tank filled close enough ...

If I was asked for advice I would
point you towards the Diana 350
which is a very good gun to start with..
good backyard plinker/target shooter
and has more than enough power to
use for hunting up to rabbit/possum
size game....

Hello Dw, and welcome.

What exactly will you be shooting? Is it legal in your area? Are you a shooter from the other disciplines?

Magnum springers can be hard to cock, are often a challenge to shoot accurately, but it's so much fun. The Dianas are all great rifles and you can't go wrong with any of them. I recommend the D54, because of the recoil system which makes it recoiless (will bust scopes, though).

Maybe you should take a better look at the pcp world. There are better options for *MOAR POWA*.

Look at the AirForce rifles (particularly the Condor), the Evanix line, Sumatra line, and ShinSung.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum! Thumb Up! You have a few variables based on the rifles you are looking at.What is your main purpose for your selection?I see you are looking for power...okay,do you care about noise level etc?I wouldn't mind the Monsoon myself...semi-auto would be a kick. However that wouldn't be a primary factor in my choice.I prefer a combination of power,AND quiet operation. The Monsoon will do this, but so will some others, and for less cash.So are you going to use the rifle for hunting, target shooting or both? Are you looking for sheer grunt, and a-lot of noise,or are you looking for a well balanced rifle, that has a combination of power, accuracy, and stealth?

Well I'm looking for a rifle for both hunting and target shooting (loong distance) ... I"m primarily focusing on power and accurancy , stealth is very good ... A combination of all of this is so good but not if it gives me a rifle that is a lot weaker than
the noisy ones... lol what would u reccomend?

I'll say it right now that with any of the FX's you will not be disappointed. Price point is a bit high, and you will need like $500 for accessories to shoot it (that includes a scope).

The AF Condor maxes out at around 66fpe IIRC. The low end of loadings for .22lr cartridges produce about 75fpe. The Korean smallbores will do similar energies. All of these HIGH powered pcp rifles produce a LOT of noise.

What is the maximum distance you see yourself shooting? Almost all real world small game hunting happens under 50 yards. A great majority of that is probably between 20 and 35 yards. In my travels, it's not very hard to nail a squirrel at 35 yards with my Benjamin SuperStreak (with a D350 spring in it) (read: Diana 350). Even at that distance a .22 CPH goes clear through the head, giving a nice crack when it hits tree behind it.

Well I would go with a PCP for sure.Your shooting will be more consistent, due to lack of recoil,as opposed to a springer, unless of course you are seasoned with springers.FX guns are great, but I don't feel they are the best value.

Fritz is correct,in that you can get over 60FPE with a Condor or AR-6,but they are loud as sh!t!You can get great long distance power, and accuracy with a PCP in the 20-35 FPE range. You can't go wrong with guns like the Benjamin Marauder, for decent power, superb accuracy, and total stealth,at less than half the price of a Monsoon, with all the gear you need to operate it. Plus... with all the $$$$ you will save, you can get yourself a chrony+printer, which will allow you to dial in the gun for your needs, and a healthy supply of ammo!It really comes down to how much you want to spend.FX guns are really nice, but I personally wouldn't spend that much."However you may feel differently". If you are looking for a higher powered PCP...
Look at a
Career Infinity .22 45fpe
Evanix Blizzard .22 45fpe
Both have heaps of power..
Adjustable power out put
6 shot mags..

I have a infinity its a great gun..
just sold a Evanix AR6..65fpe
I liked the power but the career
is a nicer alround gun ..

The Monsoon has some wear and tear problems. FX used to make, or still makes another Semi-auto PCP which has a better system.

I'd advice something that isn't Semi-auto though. Look at english brands. I prefer Air Arms. Go ahead, don't be shy and take a look.

i would concur with broom. if i was rich like him Razz i would trade my mroder for an airarms any day. based on your budget go euro.

the mroder seems to be (so far) like the"entry level" high end pcp.
i've not a complaint about it but for your budget go for broke.

still, do a LOT of research, i've only had buyers remorse with burners and it does suck.

Make that a double Razz I usually buy a gun, then get more money for it, or in combination with selling the gun and some financial extras from here and there, I can upgrade. That's how I got my Air Arms. I got my HW90 for the same amount of cash as what I got for my Diana 48.

It works, and keeps the hobby flowing. Allthough I still have some projects left that don't get done.
