I have the Super Streak in .22 and finally after finally putting the scope on and the GTR-III trigger (awesome trigger) I find that no matter what I do the scope still comes loose after 100-200 shots. The gun came with a one piece scope mount with a pre-drilled hole in the 11mm dovetail for the a set screw that is in the mount. I have placed everything correct(I think) and it still comes loose. So I am looking at a two piece mount along with a scope stop. What is the correct placement for a scope stop on a 2 piece mount that does have a set screw. Thanks

You have this mount:

If so, the pin has to be aligned correctly (there are two sides of different thicknesses/diameters) and put into the hole in the tube of the rifle and correctly in the mount. If this is done, there should not be any scope movement forwards-backwards, except perhaps if your screws on the dovetail or the scope tube are loosening up. A low-power Loctite-type product should correct this if it is the case.

Use purple or blue Loctite (I use blue). The screws will remain nice and tight, but can be removed later. Stay away from red Loctite - you need to use heat (a torch) to get it apart

I have read that one can paint a bit of automotive paint rubbing compound on the places where metal clamps together. The little bit of abrasive keeps the pieces from sliding:

That looks like the mount. I had the set pin lined up and screw it into the hole in the rifle but it still came loose after around 200 shots. After working on my airgun and replacing the trigger I have found out just how useful blue loctite is. I will try it again this time with the blue loctite and see what happens. I figured with the pin I shouldn't need a scope stop put if it comes loose again I will have no choice. Thanks for the help.

is the "pin" an allen screw that screws down into a hole? if it is...remove the screw and look into the hole using a high intensity lite...align the holes...clamp the mount securely then install the screw with loctite blue or fingernail polish...whatever.

if it's a tight fitting roll pin, remove it and tap the hole for a screw in style "stop"...i've done that as well.

it sounds as though you're NOT getting a good secure fit.

i have two of those mounts and that's the procedure i use on my springer and gas piston and it works.

On mine, I took the scope from the mounts. Put the gun in a vise or other steady holder. Put the mounts on and align the hole. Screw the stop in as far as it will go. LOCK the screws holding the mount on down (I didn't use loctite).

Has held steady for over 1,000 shots since last time I did it. Before it was on for 2,000.

Damn squirrel in my yard...
