What do you intend to use these for?

They don't have a reputation for accuracy, reliability, or general quality. Of course one might just suit your needs.

For shooting soda cans at 5 yards, I have a co2 cart powered 1911 style BB pistol. DA only, so the trigger pull is hard, but double taps are still not hard. I can empty out on a mob of soda cans in seconds, it's like pop-pop-pop-klink-klink-klink. Sorry I don't have the box handy, it's a great gun for killing loads of cans in a snap. At point blank it will put about 25 shots clear through a fresh apple, and at 10 yards through a soda can.

If you want to go for volume of shots, definitely look for a BB gun. If there's any hope for accuracy beyond 10 yards you need a pellet. Most semi-auto pellet guns use rotary magazines, this is a very weak point. Not saying that with some work you can't make a great shooter, but out of the box it's probably not worth it.

Take a look at the Crosman 1377 and 2240. 13xx is a multipump pistol, and the 22xx is a co2. My choice would be the 1377 because you can use it all year, and it comes standard in .177 for cheap pellets.

I have a 2240 and I don't like pump guns and I like double action guns which I have, too. Why would a rotary magazine be a weak point?

You could look for a Drulov something something. With a little work I hear they're not bad.

I've been shooting a Varmit Hunter model for about a year now (about 750 rounds or so), but ditched the included scope for a Centerpoint Adventure class 3-9x50 AO. I've had great success with Crosman Premier ammo out to 35 yds. But recently I've had some accuracy issues, I think I have a scope problem, otherwise, it's been flawless. Certainly not the best, but for the money, not a bad rifle in my opinon.

I should rephrase about rotary magazines; the cheap ones have problems. A lot of high quality airguns use rotary magazines to great effect. Cheap ones like on the 1077 and pt-80 are known to leak and have other issues. Usually they can be fixed to work well- of course taking time, effort, and possibly money.

I know of the Drulov n it's supposed to b a high-quality gun but theproblem is it cost as much as some firearms, $550, n doesn't have impressive power, at only 410-25 fps.

Don't need alot of power to plink cans with. Of course that would determined at what range you're talking about. Honestly, don't get suckered into the "FPS" trap hyped by just about ever ag maker out there.

To better help you, give us an indication what your price range is, and what kind of range your targets will be set up at. Your general location is also useful. Co2 don't like to "live" in cold enviroments. So if you're in a northern state, you're looking at either springer, pumper or pcp type ag's.

I'm in Canada so summer is too hot to handle and winter too cold to hold. I've been doing plinking since the '90s n my targets r I estimate 20-30 ft. It wouldn't be a springer nor a pumper as I already mentioned. These r not types I would even recommend. I have 1 springer n 2 pumpers but I don't use them ne more. I don't have a pcp because they r rare. A good 1 seems 2 b the Rohm but it is heavy, expensive, n loud. N it isn't only the power but the price 4 the power.

What about a Beeman P17 $99.99
1 pump = 410 fps
It has a good trigger too .

Or an HW40 for better quality . http://my.tbaytel.net/coopers/HW40Review/review.html

Under500fps is right on all counts. The P17 is accurate, and has a good trigger. The only defect is that burred metal around the air inlet to the cylinder eats piston seals, but you can fix that with a little emery paper. Seals are all simple "O" rings available at auto parts stores.

I have the Marksman 2004 version, and am very happy with it. Marksman 2004 = Marksman 2006 = Beeman P17. Same gun with different names, depending on when it was purchased. All are a Chinese clone of the more expensive (higher quality) HW40, which is also the Beeman P3. Lots of names for the same design, but it's a good one.

I see from the charts that most of the velocity averages are below 400 which is really not pwerful enough for me. I don't think I"ll be getting a new gun after all. I have about a dozen already. Thanks to you all for your input.
