Haven't updated this thread in a while. This time it's driving related...
I came upon a redlight but it was a couple hundred yards ahead. I let off the gas anticipating the light turning green again, which it did. However, there was a person in front of me. He did what a lot of bad drivers do and he started breaking AFTER the light turned green again.
Once the light is green, you no longer have to break. It's so dumb because he was just breaking becuase the light WAS red. As though you have to slow down just to symbolize a recent red light. How stupid.
Yeah, that guy got a good honking and veering in front of. I know, it's lame. But what else could I do. |

My grandma hauls a$$ down the road.
She also just had a knee replacement and I have to run to keep up with her in the supermarkets. God forbid I get my attention stolen for a second and she's gone. |

| I used to race rally back in the day. In my area doing thE speed limit in some spots is as tricky as some of those rally courses. In the winter it's just like being on a track. THat and i only do the posted speed limit. I live out in the middle of nowhere though so that's a big part of it. Doing 40 on some of these roads will get you killed. Either you will wreck your car or meet somebody head on. |

I figured it was my job to let bad drivers know how bad of a job they are doing. Certainly wouldn't want them to be driving about, inconveniencing everyone and thinking they aren't doing anything wrong.
I'm the guy that makes old people eventually realize that they shouldn't be on the road anymore. Escpecially out here with all the slow snowbirds. |

That's why a drivers liscense is actually hard to get over here. Well, that and the fact that they don't want more cars on the road. |

Roger, Here in Florida you can legaly have a loaded pistol in your car and a concealed carry permit is easy to get. Many old folks "carry" just to protect themselves from young whippersnappers with a horn fixation. Be carefull if vacationing here. There is nothing the old retired folks here like more than to die AFTER you do! |

Over here they're about $ 1818.87 including the lessons and the theory exam. If you suck at driving they cost more. |

I work with this guy and everytime I come across an email that he has sent out to a customer they always have bad typo's and misspellings in them. This is really bad because we have built in spell check program that shows a red line under the word if it's spelled wrong.
Well, turns out he's getting married soon and he gave everyone these really ornate wedding invitations. These suckers looked expensive too. They had multiple pieces of paper in them and they unfold and open up and have all this decorative writing. But within two seconds of opening it and reading it I noticed that it said he and his fiance are going to "unit" in holy matrimony. Should've said "unite".
So....ANOTHER TYPO!!! And on his wedding invitation no less! If you are a terrible speller then let your fiance do the invitations. Or, proof read your invitations at least ONE time before sending them off to the printers. I mean, c'mon. Did he and his fiance even try? |

As long as spell-checkers have the "ignore" button idiots will prevail. At least have someone scan it before it goes public. If there's a question then look it up.
A few years ago a young man was working on a big concrete grain silo. (Roy will remember - he was there.) A winch handle got loose and whacked him in the chest. The local small town paper reported that he had his ribs broken by a wench.
Sometimes even correct spelling can't save you from awkward construction. Like the last place I worked. We made tin cans, using "body makers" to draw and iron the can from one piece of steel. Management declared that they wanted at least three "BM's" on the line at all times. We thought, "Well O.K., if that's what they really want."
Or Messiah Lutheran, a church we attended right after we got hitched. They showed me a concert program from the 1950's asking people to celebrate Messiah's "newly enlarged organ."
Like you say, Roger, they didn't even try. |

I recall that they celebrate the festival of the steel phallus in Japan. A connection perhaps? YOU DECIDE! |
