Hello everyone this is my first post on this forum.
I recently was given a Crosman Pumpmaster Model 760-D by my Opa. he had it sitting in his garage for many years and I am not sure how old the gun is. There is a bit of rust on the outside of the barrel. I was wonder if there was anything that I should do to the gun like oil, clean, etc.
Thanks to anyone who can help. |

First- mentioning your grandfather- I need to ask if you are at least 18 years old?
Beyond that, use penetrating oil on the metal parts (don't get it on the plastic parts) to rub off the rust, and the oil will also help protect it (PB blaster seems to work the best). You may want to be sure it is operational before getting it all cleaned up... |

| Why does it matter if I am over 18? |

When you signed up to become a member of the site, you had to read the user agreement which clearly states this an adult-only forum, and then confirm this by selecting one of the two available checkboxes: that you must be at least 18 years of age to sign up, or have your parent/legal guardian's permission- in writing- sent to me.
Unfortunately, I believe I may have your answer already with that response. Your parent/legal guardian needs to send me an email specifying that you are given their full permission, without restriction, to be here. Anything you may learn/pick up here is yours and their responsibility- not ours. The user agreement is VERY clear in this respect. As a minor/child, you do not have the legal authority to make such a 'contract' and accept full responsibility for your actions, and we will not be held responsible if you do something stupid with an airgun that you may have gotten ideas about by poking around here. If, to the best of our ability, we believe you are not 18 years of age or older- it is our responsibility to ensure as best as can be expected reasonably, in the "internet age", that your parent/guardian who has the legal authority to act on/with these conditions, understands them and agrees to them.
Without such an agreement/permission- access to AirGunHome will be curtailed- and we will have fulfilled our legal responsibilities in as far as any reasonable person could expect. We are not here to discuss lollipops and cotton candy- as I'm sure you can appreciate- airguns can kill people (with relative ease) and as such, providing an arena for minors to discuss such a subject would not be prudent or appropriate from a legal standpoint.
So, again- have your legal guardian contact me with this in mind. If I do not receive a response within 24 hours, your access to the site will be eliminated. |
