| Went shopping today, and saw a Phantom for sale with a "new and improved trigger." There was a sticker on the box with a photo of the trigger (the photo of the rifle printed on the box still has the old trigger). It has a flat grooved face, the same familiar three holes, and there are no adjustment screws visible. Looks like they went to a cast version of the old stamped sheet metal trigger. |

Terrible to not read such news from a site. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I hope this really is an improvement. Anything would improve over the Gamo trigger.
It's really kind of weird that the Gamo style trigger isn't that bad once you do one or two things to it. A different screw and removing a spring, if I recall well.
I guess that the Gamo trigger was designed while keeping in mind that you don't want the gun to go off by any circumstances.
Did anyone buy one of these recently? |

Including pulling it with your finger.
The strange thing is, the original setup invites accidents, IMO. The adjustment screw blocks the sear, so when the so-called second stage is positioned just before release, the sear is hanging by a thread when you cock it. (The "first stage" is simply the trigger swinging through its arc without touching anything.) All the commercial and homebrew mods I've seen (GTR, GTX, inserts, etc.) allow full sear engagement.
The position of the three holes and the absence of adjustment screws in the photo I saw suggest that this is a different chunk of metal doing the same job as before. Design aside, this one will probably fit better, and the grooved flat face is an improvement. |

| Crosman is a better learner in comparison to Gamo, that's for sure. |

| Thats the same trigger as the one on my Crosman .22 Classic here in canada. Its acctually pretty nice. Not as light of a pull as the GTX/GTR but smoother than the one on eth older phantoms |

Does it have adjustment screws that can't be seen in the photo, or the single vertical screw behind and apart from the trigger? |
