Air Compressors for 3000 psi are in the $2K-$3K range, even more for the commercial units the SCUBA shops use.... Shocked

You can either use a hand pump or SCUBA bottles and have them filled at a Dive (or Paintball?) Shop.... Wink

1. What kind of Air compressor do I need to buy to fill the tanks? Where do I buy it? What is a general ball park on how much it will cost?

You need one up to at least 200 Bar (2 900 Psi) and if you want a big bore surely more. You also need a bunch of couplings that aren't cheap. I'm guessing you'll get a descent compressor starting at $ 800? Need backing up on this from a local though.

2. Is anything other then .177 cal legal in Michigan? I want too get a Career Dragon Slayer or a Sam yang big bore and don't know if its legal to own one or even buy it online and have it shipped to Michigan.

I think not, but again I don't really know. I do know that if you want one of these guns, you'll want a used one that is already tuned.

3. How do I maintenance a PCP Rifle?

Just clean the metal with gun oil that isn't petroleum based just like a normal airgun, and once in a while some in the barrel. Most PCP's aren't very high maintenance items.

Pumping can be a pain, that's for sure. Two questions: What do you want to do with the gun, and how long have you been shooting? A springer may be more immediately attainable, and could help develop your shooting career to the point where you would be able to decide on a PCP that exactly meets your needs.

In the mean time, put lots of rounds through the Airmaster.

Okay, thanks, the air compressor problem is solved my uncle owns a air compressor for his company that will easily do it, or at least that's what he says.

Make sure it's running enough PSI's, and with big bore rifles like that, you won't get to many shots from one fill to begin with, so I guess it'll be Infusion for you.

To find out you're states regs, could try doing a google. Or most online stores will spell where they can or cannot ship to and under what conditions. Another source would be asking at your local gunshop, sporting goods store or even police department.

Would I be better off buying a springer in the next month or two, or waiting about 3-4 months and buying a Discovery or would it be better to wait about 6-7 months and buy a Condor or a Marauder.

If it were me and I thought I could swing it in that amount of time, then I would wait for the PCP. Living in Michigan you're really talking about next spring anyway - at least to go outside and enjoy the new gun.

Definitely check out any Michigan laws that may apply. Michigan has a bunch of them.

1st ...stay away from the big bores...they are only good for
around 10 or less shots per fill...look for a .22 PCP that will give 20+
shots per fill....Most PCP are very noisey so that could become a issue
for backyard plinking.....A compresser is out of the question prise wise
most/all PCP owners use either a scuba tank "filled at the local dive shop"
or a hand pump..but if you are weak or a light weight a pump could be a bit of a pain in the ???...
look around for a used unit as you may get a deal with all the extras
that are needed to get shooting...
Gun
fill probe... "plugs into the gun"
fill station.... "fits on the scuba tank""
scuba tank or hand pump
" a scuba tank has to be in service to get it filled"
or you will have to have it tested =$$

b]GET A GOOD SPRINGER[/b]

if you follow www.airgunweb.com (i kinda know the owner) he's gonna review the marauder with pump in the next few weeks. he just got his yesterday. i had a disco. damn good gun. in .22 it's almost as loud as .22 LR. (why i sold it). if you don't mind the noise get a disco.

the pump is a b!tch. i've only used a 3000psi scuba tank.
