Dang! Sniper's right.

Under our ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY, the gun you used to commit this gun crime must now be confiscated. Please email me and I'll send you the address to which you may voluntarily turn in the gun in question. Failure to do so may result in severe repercussions. (Well, okay maybe not exactly severe but Sniper will be really disappointed. I promised him 10% of MSRP every time he helped me scam somebody into sending me their AG.)

This probably isnt a big deal to you guys, but cool to me. 2 shots from 30 yards with the HW30 to a quarter I had tape to a milk jug. Hit it both times... go me? lol

What type of pellet were you using? looking at the impact indents on the coin it looks like it has been hit by a .22 crosshead screwdriver.

lol, there just some pointed crossman pellets thats my brother cut an " x " into the tips. he said it makes them mushroom out moor, but after shooting some tin cans, we found out that peices break off. and the pellet turns into 4 little peices of shrapnel

I've never seen a lead pellet leaves marks like that before- pellet lead tends to crush up and leave rounded dents in steel if it doesn't penetrate. Is there something else about the pellets used that we haven't heard?

Huh, that's really something.

Usually, any deformation of the pellet will cause a dramatic loss of accuracy. At 30 yards, you'd think a pellet that severely deformed would have been several inches off target.

Curiouser and curiouser!

Just because I believe in the old "Kids! Try this at home!" I decided to give this a shot (ptp!) and see what kind of results I got.

I taped a quarter to the side of a tissue stuffed saltine box, set it out at 30 yards and took a couple of shots at it with my Gamo. I know the Gamo's running hot straight and normal because the zero data from ChairGun is dead on the money. Trajectory's exactly what it should be for calculated mv with CP 7.9 pellets.

The first shot (sorry, no picture) hit on the upper right quad of the target and then "slid" past it to punch on into the box.

The second shot hit in the lower right quadrant and punched the coin through the side of the cracker box.

Funny, but the pellets didn't even leave a dent in the quarter. Oh, it warped the hell out of it, it'll never feed in a vending machine but after wiping the lead smears off with my thumb, there aren't any visible pellet dings. Certainly nothing like the ones pictured in the post above.

That's quite a discrepancy between results, just exactly what kind of mv does this HW30 produce?

Wink

How pathetic do you have to be to come into a forum and lie about your abilities to people you don't know and will almost certainly never meet? Are you really that insecure?

Wierd.

Oh, btw, keep deleting images off of photobucket, I can still see the thumbnail image. In fact, I saw you doing the deletions so I saved one for you. Ain't I a prince of a guy? Laughing

Here ya go, preserved for posterity.

BmDubb's lame photo fakery...

i didn't think to look further. i have that "i take your word for it" problem.

i think the hw30 maxes at 600-650 fps .7.9.

it's a paper target rifle. (nice one still)

Well yeah you have a tendancy to take people's word for it, after all, why would anybody go to the trouble of telling the lie? I mean really, do these people sit back and feel some wierd sort of pride knowing there are people out there who believe they can actually perform these fairly unimpressive feats of skill? Laughing

Don't feel bad, I took it at face value and didn't think anything of it until Al and Eric spoke up. Then I realized I'd never shot at a coin with a pellet gun. (That Gamo's way too heavy and unwieldy for aerial targets!) So, I decided to give it a try and see what happened.

I was actually a little surprised at the results so I guess I learned something from this waste-of-space thread so that's a good thing. But still, this "BmDubb" is a very wierd little guy. Rolling Eyes
