Where can i find an unbias review of pcp rifles, if one exists.

Some advice: You just have to look up some facts. The things Sniper said are a good start.

With a PCP you want know about shot count and quality too.

For instance, the Benjamin Discovery does about 20-30 good shots at 22 Fpe and the quality is average. You can see this in the finish, and in the price. The Benji still seems to have a bit better finish in comparison to the other Crosmans, but I don't have one here so I really can't compare it to anything top notch. They are adequate for most people, and what you pay for.

I do know that quality-wise it's worlds apart from for instance my Air Arms, allthough they're not really cheap on your side of the pond either. You gotta have the luck to get a used one in good condition I guess. (I'm pretty cheap, so I usually move around parts, sell a gun and get a new one from the money generated from that, plus a bit extra.)

I've found the Air Arms/CZ S200 Flimsy. It's a good rifle though, and the quality will do + you can add a Magazine. Really light and small.

The Dominator 1250 is alright. Not sure how much they are. You could also try for an Airmagnum 850 with HPA conversion. More usable shots guaranteed.

I guess looks are important too. The problem with not buying a gun in a shop, but on the internet is that you can't have a really good look at things to begin with. Most guns look better in real life. Neutral

So in the end, there is a chance you end up getting something you don't like, however, I also think that even the cheapest PCP will bring a smile to someones face, as they're just so easy to shoot.

i agree with 'sniper' and 'broomaster2000'.

my reason(s) for wanting a PCP is simply:

1. i have a really good 'springer'...a beeman r-10

2. i have a really good 'gas piston'...a beeman RX-1

3. i have a fixed barrel CO2 powered, QB78.

4. i want a 'fixed barrel' PCP/HPA air rifle.

while the above mentioned air rifles are of very fine quality, accuracy, "power" and durability, i wish to try the PCP/HPA

i had a RWS model 48 and one of it's chinese counterparts. both were very violent.

the fixed barrel QB78 is a decent, accurate, easy to work on, easy to get parts for, CO2 powered, air rifle. i am fortunate enough to be equipped with adequate tooling to have been able to make extensive modifications to the valve of this rifle and get a decent gain in 'power' but, the price for that power was it consumes much more CO2 per shot than in it's standard configuration. and...i'm not really real fond of CO2 as a propellant as it's susceptable to the ambient temprature; loss/gain in power.

i recently ordered a new PCP rifle with the included hand pump. my reasoning? i can hand pump it to charge it...(i also hand pump the RX-1 to recharge it if need be)...i may order a charging yoke and use a SCUBA tank to charge it or i can get the proper compressor set up to charge it. all are not "cheap" methods of recharging, but are nevertheless, available. compressed air is more stable and less susceptable to enviromental conditions, too.

the tools to compress air are sometimes costly, but at least one doesn't have to rely on a dive shop or paintball shop for a recharge...air is "free"...CO2 is, normally, not.

PCP/HPA rifles are normally capable of providing more on-target FPE than springers. (not trying to spark any debates with that statement)

and...PCP/HPA rifles have little to NO recoil...probably my favorite reason...
