LETS DEBATE SHALL WE!
i'm looking for my next springer (after i sell 2 burners) and am researching.
-which has a better build?
-which has more power?
-which has a better trigger?
-which is more accurate?
-which lasts longer?
i CAN testfire whatever tim has but i won't burn his time up unless i have the money.
thoughts???? |

Both are really good, but the D-48 allows shooting from a Bi-pod. In .22 they do tend to be really nice, and easy to shoot. Another thing with the D-48 is that you don't want to tune it. It won't make a lot of difference.
Diana also tends to take tolerances a bit less seriously, so even though you got a powerfull rifle, you might end up with one that does 16 Fpe in stead of 18-22, allthough I think in .22 it will be more capable to process the power. so you'll likely end up with at least 18 Fpe.
Always use heavy pellets in these, Baracudas should do great. It'll also be better for your scope. |

ok sniper chalk my vote up for the R-1, for no other reason that its also a model designation for a Yamaha motorcycle as well, the YZF1000 R1 |

| I like the R1, but also like the claimed 900 fps of the D-48. Pyramid has a nice combo for what looks like a decent price. Anyone have a D48? |

It depends on the person for the build. As Broom said, the R1 is likely going be better out of the box.
Lady Diana takes the power, by 5fpe.
Do R1s have the Rekord trigger? If they do it definitely goes to the R1, but Dianas have a decent trigger.
On the 10m the R1 is more accurate, but at higher distances the 48/52 will prevail because of the extra power.
Both guns will go a long time before they expire. |

For what its worth !
From Pyramyd Air
RWS Model 48 .22 caliber with 3-9X32 scope FPS 900 = $410
R-1 open sights FPS in .20 caliber 860 FPS
I love my 48/52 for power and shootabilty she's great.
Accurate ?? You bet it is ,trigger is fully adjustable and gets better and better the more its shot.
For $200 bucks I'll take the 48 with a scope any day,and I'm even partial to .20 caliber rifles.
BBGun Bob
SE Mich.
My 1996 Diana 48/52 in .22 caliber still shooting an honest 860 +- 16 fps.

Sniper, do you have any PCPs?
I remember when I wanted a high end RWS, but a former member talked me into getting my Talon instead, and I don't regret it. Not to burst your bubble. |
