u]THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY TARGET, SHOOT ANY TIME IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS[/u]
Target to download and print: Fortnight 87; June 1>June 14/2009
1)Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
3a) The rules for shooting 5m or 10 m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.
All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it.
Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 22 shots total, 2 per target maximum. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Green
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is as marked on target. Only two hits per target counts. Maximum point count is 220.
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs for 4 weeks. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT on the last Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others
Please make sure that the blue border is visible on your entry, plus the green dot is 12mm diameter on A4 paper.

I realize we can only enter one rifle sheet and one pistol, but are guys shooting several practice sheets until they get a good score? Or are they just shooting one sheet and that's it. I have been sticking to just shooting it once, is that what everyone else is doing?
thanks |

The idea is to print a target and shoot it full stop, it’s not in the rules because when you go down to your local club, they stick a target up and you shoot it they don’t keep putting one up until you are satisfied, and that’s how our internet target shooting is run.
A lot of it is on trust so if a competitor shoots multi targets to get a good one the only person he is cheating is himself. |

It was getting dark so I did this in about 5 min.
Next time I will take my time.
But I did get a few bullseyes
Used a Crosman G1 with stock scope and crosman hunter pellets.
Im not sure how to add up my score and I didn`t realize the 3 shots I took at the green did not count ( I could have shot 3 more times)

No problem with the scoring Midichlorian it works like this:
Any pellet cutting the line is given the highest of the two scores so working left to right and top to bottom, the scores are.
1/ 9+8
2/ 9+10
3/ 10
4/ 0
5/ 8
6/ 10
7/ 9+9
8/ 8+8
9/ 8
10/ 0
11/ 9
Total 113.
Any shots that go wildly off target then put a note on the target so we know which target they belong to, also don't forget you have 5 shots at the green which arn't part of the allotted shots you can use.
Don't worry about mistakes we all make them. |

Bullseyes. Okay, only 1 point off if you miss.
Pretty standard. Should be relatively easy. Again, a lot of
electronic target work lately. Coach says decrease time in the 10 ring
before trigger squeeze... avg down .1 sec!
So, feeling pretty confident.

Just missed one for a nine. Let me know what you all think, see if I got it or not....

Oatring - I'd have scored it a 9 just to be safe. No worries though NICE target.
I shot with both pistol and rifle, my rifle work is getting better although I still shoot tighter groups on half inch bulls. Must be the diff in the visual drawing my eye (and in my case - scope) away.
Pistol score was a 198
2300s 2-7 BSA Pistol Scope at 2x
Beeman wads .177
9.5 Min (+/- a few sec)
Rifle score was 200 (first time I've ever had a better rifle score at 10m than pistol at 5 on the same target.
Talon SS 6-24 Centerpoint at ~15x
H&N Match Wads
12min (+/- a few sec)
Scan messed up and I already put the paper away - pic coming. I hope I get back in by the deadline. I have to go do something NOW.
edit done at 5:27 PM EST - scans added |
