Heres a sound clip of me using the Lohman crow call #104 I just bought from Cabelas. I tried it last night and heard a few off in the distance. Today i gave it a blow and after about 15 min 2 of them flew overheade cawing back at me. As soon as they saw me standing in the driveway they did a 180 and went the other way and went silent.

i don't really "crow hunt", but i know some guys who do.
what they tell me is..
head to toe camo(deer or turkey gear),
having trees or a blind to hide/blend in,
a decoy w/ recording at same location.
one guy uses a small boom box and lays it down next to or near the decoy.
another has a remote(wired) speaker. he can stop the call or start it back up. if you can get a good sound bite. then you just need a way to play it.
natural recordings are best. wing one and his buddy's will come down to see and start raisin' hell.
set the recorder up beforehand, and tape it.
best call you'll ever get.
these guys are using shotguns.
i'm trying to get one guy out w/ his whisper. |

| Tonbon, you are bang on about the camo or cover. I have been practising and brought in two again last night and about 4 or 5 flew over today after calling. BUT as soon as they see me they are gonzo. Could be that they leave b/c they are not able to locate the bird and reason for the rally call. I can really see the need for decoys to bring them right in. |

probably one crow and one owl decoy and you should be able to bring them in to shooting distance |
