| I picked up this nice looking gun from a catalog sale...too cheap to pass up, The gun is attractive, heavy, and has great sights. The trigger pull is enough to make you go off aim even shooting from a rest. There is also a heck of a jump when the gun is fired...does anyone have any ideas, or is this the reason the gun was sold as part of an overstock sale? Hank |

Part of that jump is simply because you have a big spring and piston lurching around inside - it's part of the design. How you hold a "springer" will influence accuracy - hand (or rest) placement, etc. Try to hold it the same each time, and hold it no more tightly than is necessary to control it. Hold it lightly, and let it rock. Maybe put your hand on the rest to cradle it a bit, so it doesn't bounce around.
There are a ton of things you can do to make it smoother - take a sharpening stone to the trigger parts, deburr the insides, make fitted spring guides, add thrust washers to the spring ends, etc. But, also be aware that a spring/piston gun can take up to 1,000 rounds to break in. Maybe the best advice is simply to shoot it. Break it in, all the while getting used to its habits.

| Thanks for the advice...the trigger and sear mechanism is a sealed unit..welded to the underside of the bbl. That precludes my doing any trigger smooting. For the moment, I've just left the gun cocked, to see if that does anything to the spring. Since I have only about $50 in this gun,I'm not too upset...I do like it's looks and heft though...Harry |

What mod is it?.. as the wincheaster 800 & 1000 are made by Hatsan...
copys of the Hatsan mod 60/70/75 plus others....for both the single and double sear versions there are trigger mods that can be done...The single sear can be made lighter & slightly nicer but the double sear version can be made into a true adjustable 2 stage....
I have the specs for both mods..let me know if its the Hatsan made Winnie
But it sounds like its the single sear version....Here's the mod
