Ton, I don't care. That is a work of art right there, I would be honored to shoot her.

The Hakim at 10 pounds 12 ounces (by the nail scale down at Charlie's Hardware). The compression tube end cap is dovetailed, so with a scope and maybe a bipod I could probably get it higher.

It was manufactured with the lead inserts.

I picked up all the newest Stoeger airguns (the 'X- ' springer models) a couple months ago, and found them to be excessively heavy with no attachments. Stoeger claims they are in the 9-x lb. range, but I think that's simply wrong.

I have some light burners but none are as steady as my nagant.
the extra weight helps hold em' steady. can't hold it as long, but it don't wobble around like the lighter ones. Mr. Green Evil Plot

Weight means balance. Once you get a good stance/hold going there's no stopping.

Both ends of the scale:

Diana 34 c/w Leapers 4-16 x 50AO scope, and Diana Muzzle Stabilizer including 7 oz. steel insert: 10 lbs. 7.5 oz

Disco c/w Leapers 3-9 x 40AO scope: 6 lbs. 12 oz

Guess which one I carry around.... Rolling Eyes

Or, in the case of rifles, it ain't the weight but how well the gun balances. I was telling someone that my 54, while no light weight, doesn't feel like a heavy gun since it seems, for me, to balance nicely in the hands. I have a .45 underhammer muzzle loader with a 1 1/8" round barrel that is more than a tad nose-heavy and literally a pain in the lower back, offhand.

Not definately though. Where the weight is located is a big deal. Some rifles require taller shooters.

The best balanced rifle I ever shot was a HW100SK, with the luxurious (not thumbhole) stock. A buddy of mine owns it. It's not heavy at all, and it's 75 centimeters long, without silencer, I think. Mr. Green It's tiny, but as a renowned dutch tuner once said: "It's just good."

That's a dutch way of saying that it does exactly what it should do, and it lives up to it's reputation.

Anyway, Heavy is a bit to ones liking, I guess. Neutral

You are correct there Broom, I meant that the weight should be balanced though.

Diana's are quite front heavy. Mr. Green I once gave one of my pals, who shoots an HW97k (not light either) from FT position my D-48. The gun almost dropped forward of the weight.

Right now I'm having a tough time with my D, though. Neutral Can't get it to shoot right.
