No takers, so I'm gonna keep it and turn it into a 100 yard pop-can sniper.... Mr. Green

Gun is now SOLD.... Cool

I found the POI all over the map with a scope, and identified the main problem as an out-of-round (ie not concentric) bushing over the pivot bolt.... As this piece was only located between two plastic washers, it tended to rotate sometimes with the friction of the plunger, and when it did, it barrel changed position vertically, causing a HUGE (3" at 10 yards) shift in POI.... Shocked

I made a new bushing that was concentric, and replaced the plastic washer on the left side of the barrel with a steel one (leaving the plastic one on the right).... I made the bushing the correct length so that when the bolt was tightened, the steel washer pressed on the end of the bushing and prevented it from rotating (ie the barrel HAD to rotate on the bushing).... This change also reduced the side play in the barrel.... Wink

You may or may not know that the bolt only passes through a hole in the left fork the same size as the head, so the barrel is actually only bolted to the right fork in a Phantom.... Rolling Eyes .... To further increase rigidity, and to make sure that the bolt would never unscrew, I drilled and tapped the front of the left fork for a 6-32 set-screw that tightens against the head of the pivot bolt.... One word of caution, the fork is VERY hard, and it is easy to break the tap, so drill the pilot hole a bit bigger than normal.... Mr. Green

On my G1 the parts fit O.K., but the bolt kept loosening up. The setscrew fixes that problem, also. I went with steel washers on both sides and a 4-4-40 screw. I chose to keep my washers free from contact with the bushing so I could adjust the drag on the barrel.
