| Are the people that voted for change sorry that they voted for him now? Are the quacks that have a Obama bumper sticker still on there car, would they vote for him today? would they learn? I was sitting in a diner on the day of inaugeration and 99% of the people that walked would ask if they had to watch this crap on the tv over the counter? And I would like to know what happened to the day when a person could be elected to office for his ideals and not how much they have in there bank account. I can tell you honestly that I am afraid of the future and what will happen to us as a nation. I am glad that I never had children so I wouldn't feel guilty about dropping this mess into there laps. sorry for the rant thanks Howard |

| What is so bad that Obama has done thus far? (i.e. here is your excuse to push your conservative agenda response on us.) |

i go with the lesser of 2 evils idea when voting, but no matter what,i will not never vote anti -2ND AMMENDMENT!!!.
the way i see it, whoever gets in is gonna screw us one way or another. voting just lends to the suggestion that we can control which orofice we are impaled in, and there will never be enough lube!!!!! |

Okay, when he said that there would be change if he was voted in, meant that he was going to hire a cabinet full of tax cheats, give billions of dollars to floundering companies so that they can give it away in millions in bonuses? I have yet to hear one reason why the economy has tanked?
He will try to take our guns from us and if he doesn't suceed in his assault gun ban, he will make ammo so scarce that we will have to throw the guns to protect our families and homes. |

Just name one thing that he has done right! That is one right thing that isn't going to make our grandchildren broke and living in a 3rd world nation! He was raised by Marxists, schooled at a socialist institution, preached to by radical ministers, and friends with terrorists like Bill Aires! He was elected for the same reason that all those people went to South America with Jimmy Jones! Enjoy the Koolaid! |

I'd say we have to give Obama some time to make changes. It's only been like two months guys. Lets wait till he's had time to actually do something before judging him.
And look what he inherited. Bush left Obama with a heck of an uphill battle.
I do have to say though, if Obama does anything which adversely effects the airgun community, then I will be the first person to speak out against him.
Taking guns away from pilots doesn't really effect me too much. |

Indeed iddly doo, when we got a new kabinet 8 years ago everyone was complaining, and kept complaining, and things hardly changed because of that. There's a lack of renewance in Dutch politics. Things are getting done, but slowly. Translate this little countries' trouble into a country the size of the States, you got yourself a whole big deal of trouble to worry about. The Obamer isn't a Superman. |

any politician is damned if he do and damned if he dont.
blaming Obama for the economy??? the economy started to head for the toilet long before Obama even started to campaign. put the blame where blame is due.... people that took out and defaulted on the sub prime loans. "just cause you CAN, doesnt mean you SHOULD". sure Clinton started that ball rolling, but what did Bush do to quell it? instead of using money HERE, to help US out.... he spent billions and billions of dollars in the middle east!!! for what??? some "perceived threat"??? personally, i think the threat of our failing infrastructure is much more menacing. how about the education system??? the threat of handing over the nation to the current crop of american students frightens me more than some outdated dictator half way around the globe with delusions of grandeur.
Obama isnt "the second coming" as i've heard some right wingers call him out of malice. but the people have spoken, instead of complaining and putting roadblocks in his way of progress, why not give the man a chance? no man faced with nothing but opposition is going to perform up to his potential.
yea, this country IS on a downward slide, but keep in mind, we have been heading down this slope long before he came along.
i guess i'm a walking contradiction, while i DO enjoy my air guns, i am very anti firearm. i support 99% of the anti gun legislation. i am one of "those people" that doesnt believe the Constitution is infallible. i think the "right to bear arms" is an outdated antiquated concept. i believe "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness" belongs in a fairytale story book, not a document that governs my life.
Jimmy Jones??? to me, the connection to those people lies more with anyone that thinks what was written 200 some odd years ago, can still actually function in todays world.
times change, laws change with it, government needs to as well.
disagree with me all you want, thoughts are the only thing that cant be governed (please notice i didnt say "expression of free thought"). all that i ask is that you keep it civil and keep the snide name calliong to a minimum.
thanks, Dummy |

The problem is capitalism. How many Enrons, Worldcoms, AIGs, GMs, and Bernie Maddoffs are we going to suffer through before we realize that corruption is running rampant at the highest levels of corporate America?
Trying to fix the problem by operating within the confines of a broken system will simply not work. |

Ok, here goes, I will try to say what I have to say in a totally non-confrontational way.
The attack on capitalism is (seems to me to be) a complete red herring. The idea of congress passing a special tax to target on specific person or group of persons makes my blood run cold. If they can do this to the employees of AIG congress can do it to anybody. Yes I am somewhat outraged at the waste of money (that probably shouldn’t have been paid anyway). But it was a contract. You argues that the problem with the economy goes back to those who took on debt they couldn’t cover? If we wanted not to pay these bonuses that could have been handled, but wasn’t, in the package the paid AIG the “bailout”.
The so called stimulus package was passed with such haste NO ONE read it, no one. Think about that...it’s not even logical that congress would pay out that kind of money without even reading the bill, but they did. The people voted in by the people. It was rammed through with almost every failed “special project” that any “liberal” congressman had wanted for the last decade or so. We have in one fell swoop already DOUBLED not the deficit, but the entire national debt! It was discovered today that, oops, the deficit spending package is going to be a trillion, that’s a TRILLION with a T dollars more than congress thought...like I said, oops.
Mr. Obama has by now broken almost every promise he made about the budget. So called “ear marks” so over the top as to stagger the imagination, he promised he’d go line by line and not pass any.
Ok, fine, you like the man. A lot of people do, his charisma is amazing, people start to applaud at his slightest word. I’d suggest slowing down and hearing what he’s already said and then looking at what he’s done. Frankly I would lay the blame for the disaster we are looking in the face more at the door step of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed. We are quite likely about to pass another “stimulus package” how long before it all falls apart? Ever hear of the Weimar Republic? Where a loaf of bread literally required a wheel barrow load of cash? Where inflation got so bad that the government took old thousand mark and simply stamped them ten thousand marks? You can’t stimulate the economy by using imaginary money to buy things.
As for the bill of rights. I can never convince you who have a firearms prejudice, but I’ll say it again. There is no gun “mild enough” to escape the anti-gun “forces” They take the powder burners, air guns are next. It is true that gun laws only work for law abiding citizens. Criminals love gun laws, it simply makes their lives simpler. It can be hard to find as the main line news outlets sort of hide it, but gun crime has gone up consistently in the UK since they outlawed ownership of all handguns.
This will go on too long if I try to address every argument, but if you really believe that the Bill of Rights is no longer applicable, which other rights would you like to drop? Freedom of speech? Freedom from unreasonable search? Freedom of the Press? Freedom of Religion(we do seem to be losing that one to I guess)? How about Freedom of assembly? Freedom from quartering troops? Maybe we don’t need the guarantee of due process, or freedom from self incrimination? There are others but I wouldn’t give up any of them. Would you? Really? |
