Hello,
i got my beeman RS2 Sportsman w/the 22 barrel on it.
It's all sighted in, and shootin well. i'm still learnin the new hold, butif I do my part, I can put em' in a dime at 25 yds. i'm also gettin consistent hits on a hanging plastic coke bottle at about 50 yds. WooHoo!

I'mm getting ready to order some pelllets to try out. i have an idea on what i'd like.
Can anyone give me a speed/power estimate for this thing? Question

i can use this info to narrow down my pellet selection.
i want to shoot somthing heavier, but i'm wondering what are the practical limits for this gun.

What pellets have you been using so far?

i'm currently useing 14.3 benji diablo, round head. im wanting to go maybe 16-20 gr.

Using the RS2 specs, your 14.3gr pellet and some "exaggeration" as is usually the case in airgun specs- you are likely shooting your current pellet somewhere in the 640fps range. If you went to a 20gr pellet, you would drop to around 540fps, everything else being equal.

If this is accurate- could you still hit a plastic soda bottle at 50 yards? Probably. Could you do much better? Maybe- I figure the RS2 is putting out about 13-14fpe.

I think 10/12 grain pellets would do pretty good.

thanks for the numbers.
when i shoot my firearms, i generaly go heavy. i may loose a little speed,
but i usually shoot tighter groups farther out. a heavier bullet is usually more stable at distance. i thought i would apply the same principles.
i don't want to totally turn it into a mortor shot.
i looked at the kodiaks, but i thought that they may be better suited to a pcp gun, due to the weight.
i'm gonna call pyrimid at some point and order some different ones in the 16-18 range, and see if it likes one of them. Headshot

i'm gettin my stuff together to redoo the washers and make a delrin bushing. i got a little time until i'm ready to start shootin for groups.

My WallyWorld bought RS2 does 687fps avg with 14.3 grain .22 Crosman Premier Domeheads. I had to shim up my breech seal just a little. Also, the barrel change setscrew kept loosening up on me and affecting my groups, so I decided on the .22 barrel and blue loctited the setscrew. No more loosening, but kinda defeats the purpose of a switchbarrel...but oh well, it shoots good now.

yea, i shot the 177 barel about 10 times, cause it was on it, to test the gun.
sighted it in, then the screw came loose and groups went to heck. fixed it, then the scope broke. crosshairs went 25% counter clockwise. dang.
got a good scope, took it apart and did the trigger work.
would any one know the approximate I.D of the spring, compressed?
then i can make a delrin guide BEFORE i take it back apart.

now i got a decent airgun scope, and i like it. shoots good.
i'll probably checker the stock. triggers almost done. just gettin stuff together for innard work, while i test pellets.
got a squirrel today at about 35-40 yds.
