What might that be a reference to? My best guess is that it's a bad translation. If you look at the rest of the page, some paragraphs make sense, and some have really poor grammar - like they cut and pasted translations of product information from the manufacturer (Gamo) in Spain. In Spanish, "cal" means "lime" (the white powder, not the fruit). Probably "calibre" (caliber) was abbreviated to "cal." and then translated to "lime." Why don't you e-mail Cabela's? Maybe they'll give you tons of free stuff for catching their screwup. With volcanic soils sometimes we had to throw in some "cal" to raise the pH so the little fish guys would have an algae bloom to eat.
