1) Target to download and print: Week 68; Jan12>Jan/18/2009
Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 16 shots total, 2 per target maximum. 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using red.
8) 10 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 10 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is as marked on target. Only two hits per target counts. Maximum point count is 160.
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others |

Good timing on this target. Exact same outter dimensions as the 10m Air Rifle target I shot all weekend (with both my rifle and pistol).
Please ingnore the 'rainbow' scan, no idea what the scanner was thinking.
Respectable Score of 106/160...

Gamo Wads (still my most consistent 5m pellet)

Rifle version to come (kids just got home).

No contest winner but darn good for me and my talon ss shot offhand. I have a bipod for a reason :-)

I tried again at 4 in the morning it opened so I draged it into an email then hit copy. It worked.
Score of 36/160 Did I mention the gale force winds.

How do you like that red dot scope on a rifle???
I've never used a red dot on a rifle but I switched my pistols from red dots (not as good as yours) to the BSA 'Edge' 2x pistol scope. I can't imagine going back. Especially for the price, they were ~ $30 a piece. I think the eye relief would work on a rifle. Just wondering as I'm considering picking up a dedicated 10m rifle but I'll still want a scope (no to low power) as my eyes don't do well with the typical blade/post sight.

I usually set the time at 15 minutes and forgot it was 10 this week, anyway it was a bad score.
My QB is not the most accurate of guns but ok for anything up to 15m, and when \I used a 3-9x40 scope it was just overkill, so I fitted a cheap Hawke red dot and it seems to suit it ok, as the range increases so does the size of the red dot and the spread of the pellets, so if I can cover the target with the dot then I know the pellet will be inside the area of the dot, I hope that’s not to confusing?
I have a Rohm pistol fitted with a Walther red dot, and I find it very accurate and quick to use, although it is supposed to be a target pistol I use it for ratting as well, and with the quick target acquisition and rapid fire it makes an ideal combination for me, but after saying that I have never tried a scope on it.
