Has anyone done business with: http://www.the850store.com/ ? If you have what do you think, or if you know someone who has what have you heard?

I was thinking about buying a .22 Hammerli 850, and then later having this guy convert it to high pressure air. Any thoughts on my idea?

That is Roald- he was around here (username 'rbva')up until a few months back. I gave him trouble for what I believed was constant re-direction of people away from AirGunHome.com to his AM850-specific forum instead of posting specific information on 850s here.

That being said, he never struck me as dishonest or misleading, he was obviously a huge fan of the 850.

The sight is a bit odd though, in the Contact and Order page it states below the pricing "The performance of our rifles is guaranteed. "

Then down lower in the 'Standard Disclaimers' section: "Due to the variables that exist in all airguns, quoted velocities are approximate and represent the average we have experienced to date. It is unreasonable to expect a gun that was slow out of the box to achieve better than average, post tune output."

I don't know that those are directly contradictory, but definitely a bit confusing to me at least- perhaps if Roald still visits (don't think he does) here he can answer which of the "Guarantee" or the "Disclaimer" is more likely to be the end result of a tune.

Buying a Dominator 1250 is cheaper.

That being said, the guy was very helpfull when I asked him questions. Roald's quite a reasonable fellow.

For cost reasons, I can buy an 850 sooner, and have fun with that for a while, then convert it to HPA. It just will work easier for me like that.

Does anyone know any links to this conversion?
