Yup. Toro used at least six motors in this model - the five in the manual, and mine. I wound up cleaning up the float needle and jet orifice, and now it works just fine. Did you guys know that carburetor cleaner isn't just for airgun parts? You can use it on carburetors too. Snow blower accidents account for over 5000 emergency room visits annually. Not to mention the fact that improper usage of snow blowers has lead to nine reported deaths since 1992. Safety Tips 1. Never put your hand in the rotating thingy in the front BTW, here is the guy's fingertip...and attached tendon...can you say OUCH! 2. Thanks for posting the reminder. The machine needs to be shut off completely before you stick anything in that "rotating thingy." Just because it's stopped doesn't mean it's safe - it just means that it's stuck. And will start rotating when it gets unstuck because your hand is in there. It's particularly refreshing to work with volatile liquids in the cold, especially when you need the dexterity of a gloveless hand. Those carburetor springs are incredibly small, and your fingers get like chunks of frozen meat. But not numb enough to ignore the stinging of anything getting in the open cracks, which happens every year because it's cold and dry.
