Like I said, I like my Stutzen. It needs a scope stop and so on, but it is a springer and held right is very accyrate. Like I said, hot and cold, they can make a good gun, but often they don't...go figure. (Edmund Burke) Thanks   Posted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 6:16 am scroller99 Veteran Member Joined: 03 Dec 2008 Posts: 272 Location: Hopewell Junction Thanks that explains alot, I had seen the video and thought it was reaching a little bit, with my benjamin pump I cannot hit anything with the gold pellets I can take a squirrel at 21 paces between the eyes with iron sights everytime, and all they do is jump when I use gold. And as far as the Gamo I have an RWS diana that I could never hit anything with, just scoped it and bore sighted it and when it gets above 12 degrees I'll try it out, thanks again Howard   Posted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 9:12 pm thepaladin Senior Member Joined: 12 Dec 2007 Posts: 930 Location: TN USA You'll find discussion on that to. The diablo pellet design gets unstable above (actually crossing) the speed of sound, so the pba pellets don't do well in the higher powered pellet guns. For the magnum rifles I use heavier pellets, you get the same energy and a more stable flight. This is my first Airgun so I had a lot learning to do. This site helped me a lot. As in shoot heaver pellets, don't hold the the rifle too tight and shoot a lot of pellets and break the gun in. PBA pellets go where they want to out of this gun. I now shoot the Gamo Rockets and shoot a pattern of 1 1/4" at 40 yards. I will still try different pellts to see if I can better my pattern. Good luck in finding the right gun for you. Don't pay too much attention to our discussions about Gamo - safety and having fun are the real goals. 300 rounds is still pretty early - you could well see even more improvement out to 800-1000 rounds. I do over-trash Gamo sometimes, I guess it's ony fair if I admit they may have some good guns. The 300 shots... that's nothing. Once your really addicted you will shoot 300 and crave more, and more! I'm going to make some targets that do something when hit as in. Knock down and reset themselves or maybe just swing around a horizonal bar. It's always fun to hit what your aiming at but more for if it does something. Thanks Fellas Todd I have 6" x 3/16" steel plate targets hanging from what looks to be a Cricket Loop that is stuck in the ground... I can stick the Shoot-See targets on... They make a nice "Plink" when you hit them and swing. Sorry I can not find the photos... I will post some later when the weather clears up... The nice thing about them is the pellets drop to the ground with in a foot of the front of them for clean up. One of my projects... (Usually get put on hold) is to make some little steel silhouettes of animals... I may just buy some... One of the guys mentioned Little Army Men... Fun and afordable... They carry them at the Dollar Store... Empty Co2's Cans are my favorites Old Pellet tins realy fly when hit... _________________ Say "NO" to BB Gun Wars...
