I wasn't talking about 140. He seems a reasonable and responsible guy to me, and a pretty experienced hunter. Again I was talking about morons with guns in general, who aren't looking for ways to improve.

I'm talking about the people who buy a cheap low end gun specifically for hunting, while it's obviously just a piece of junk met for other purposes.

I'm not here to make people's lives miserable, I'm here to state my opinion AND to carry out this forum's policy. They happen to be quite in line.

Unfortunately it isn't, that's why we are advising adequate equipment, thorough practice and investigation.

By the way, I hate cats. Be my guest.

Funny, I'm new to a forum...I post a fun story in my life...and it turns into this.

Seems a little odd to me.

I'll just stick to asking how to mount scopes instead of sharing fun stories of my hunting experiences.

I've been shooting air rifles for over 29 years. And hunting has been a fun part of that time.

Seems like if you don't shoot a $1000 custom air rifle, you are deemed inhumane in this forum by some. And, if you shoot a $40 air rifle, you are thought silly and unkind to animals.

Funny thing is...both can shoot the same projectile at the same speed, but one is looked down on because of its dollar value. Airgun snobbery holds no value with me.

Again, I'll do my best to just ask simple tech questions so as not to bring objection in the minds of the air rifle elite.

Why, hunting experiences contribute to the improvement of other hunters.

Great, a lot of people like hunting, and if they have fun doing it, and doing it good, I don't mind. Great you're having fun.

It's not the rifle, it's the hunter, then the rifle. Besides, he who fits the shoe... and if it don't fit, it's not even a problem.

Not true either. I only buy used guns because frankly I'm poor and I don't like to waste money. The greatest difference is in the $ 40 to $ 100 dollar Airguns. Is that so unreasonable?

Suits me fine as well.

Most people here have everything from cheap little daisy bb guns to expensive, top of the line ag's. And most of us like all our guns, regardless of the cost.

well said roger.

crosman140, this forum actually represents a pretty accurate cross section of people. out in the real world, you dont get along with or agree with every person you meet, same here. 99% of the "down talking" is in good fun and not meant to be taken personally.
my collection of airguns ranges from a $40 wally world special, to a couple high dollar (subjective) rifles. each one serves its purpose fully, to have fun with.
please, if you enjoy sharing your hunting stories, by all means continue to do so.

Shoot what you've got.

Rogerflat and Dummyracer36 are correct. While the forum can't be a venue for illegal or intentionally cruel or unethical practices, I don't see the tone of your posts placing you in that category.

These are my current favorites. All under $90.00 USD, and all under $150.00 even after mods:

Crosman140,

Wouldn't let it bother ya. That's why I posted what I did. Notice I'm using a cheapo crosman 1077 for target and hunting. Like many other's I'm BROKE. It's not the best pellet rifle for what I'm using it for. But I made sure I was aware of why my abilites are and and I don't push this gun beyond it's limits.

Thanks guys. I shouldn't have let it bother me. I'm new to your community and was just looking for a bunch of guys to shoot the breeze with talking about common interests and sharing stories and advice. Smile

I'll keep my posts coming. Seems like a nice place with nice people.
