Thats why I hate idiots. They take the fun out of everything for me.

Only thrice have I been hit by and projectile of my own.

1) shot myself with an AIRSOFT gun to see how much it really hurt.

2) had a ricochet come back and land in my lap (10 yards).

3) didn't realize how I was holding my red ryder as a child, and a bb skimmed my thumb, hurt like a bi-- but didn't bleed.

I have since learned from that A) airsoft guns hurt like hell B) my metallic pellet trap sucks C) serves me right for not handling my red ryder properly.

You got it. Of course you can kill with an airgun. The cases listed are mostly cases where kids were left insupervised. But as has been pointed out you can kill with a stick. Cars kill more people than guns of all discriptions...combined. You can commit murder with foxglove plant. You can choke on a potato...where does it end. If someone is killed with a PS 3 will they regulate the size and voltage of video games?

Pit Bull owners have been targeted for years because of a few "macho" types who think that a tuff dog makes them tuff, so...outlaw the dog. There are always groups who will snap up any excuse to further regulste any type of gun or shooting sport, hobby, or pass time. DON'T be silent, speak up and vote.

I knew a guy who was a felon and had a tuff pitbull. Probably for that whole "machismo" thing. The dog recently bit a little boy in his face causing him to get stitches. The dog wasn't put down since the boy had "provoked" it.

You can outlaw these things, but people will just find another way to mess each other up.

Well, I'm personally not against restriction when it's done well. The problem is that it's never done well.

If there was a simple system that registration who owns which gun, then it wouldn't be a problem. You don't need other rules. If someone abuses a gun (because that's what we're talking about, gun-abuse) then he's to face the consequences. Also some guidelines would probably suffice.

I don't know if we want to talk about our reasons here. The reason i'm against most restrictions is it's an abdication of responsibility. We are givong over control and therefore responsibilty to "someone else". The government. And governmental bodies are usually the worct equiped to handle anything right.

The big problem is that once this is started its hard or almost impossible to reverse, as "so many people (the majority?) will refuse to re-assume responsibility. The examples here are idiots who abuse and misuse guns, thus the need for big brother to assume the responsibility.

When I was young I remember my dad (a yellow dog democrat) observing once that during the great depression the churches dropped the ball. Thus we go "relief" which has grown into our present welfare state. To change it is a major undertaking as there are familis that have lived 4+ generations on welfare. Had the churchs (the people in them who still had means) done what they could have instead of sitting on the "assets" like everyone else, the welfare state would not have been needed.

A good seasonal example is the Christmas Carol where Scrooge believes he's taxed for the work houses, the poor houses, and the debeters prison so that should be enough, though he's never cosidered what life in these places might be like.

Burocracies grow and never give up powr or authority once obtained. Therefore I don't like surrendering our rights OR our responsibilites to some government agency. Eventually we'll get so bound up in it that we'll lose our rights completely. You may believe I'm over reacting, the problem is once the rights are gone, there will almost certianly be no getting them back.

I hope it dosn't get in to law as at the moment the only
restiction we have is age 18years old.
We can hang a silancer on a air gun mod it as much as we want.
No power ftlbs or FPS restrictions.
but theres always a few brain dead f _ _ k wits that
will stuff things up for everyone.

But as far as the 25ftibs restriction goes they will nibble away at it
till by the time it becomes law it will be something in the
10/12ftlbs range. Yer can just see it happening.

My shooters will be full power, Stuff any new dumb a$$ laws
as long as I don't draw attention to myself they will not know

My Pit bull is just one loveable pup... Even the cops that responded to our new alarm system going off... fell in love with him... with in minutes...

Of course it is how you raise them. Rico was bottle feed when his mom died.

He is smart as a whip and a big helper, I trained him to take things to my wife when she is in the other room... She can tell him to pick up things off the floor and bring them to her... and he does it.

He is very gentle with kids. He won't jump on them like he jumps on me when I come in from the shop. When kids start to cry because they are scared of him... he just lays down like in the photo and looks up... He knows...

He is socialized consistently... He goes in with me to the tool store and one of the local hardware shops and says hi to everyone...

I took him in to the pet store with me for the first time the other day and let him pick out a new toy... He carried it to the counter. I told him to give it to the gal and he did... She was totally blown away how well behaved he was.

Right, same story...idoits ruin a good dog, the dog takes the rap. We had a "rotty" that ran the neighborhood around here till it finally attacked a smaller dog. Wasn't the dog's fault, it was the owner's.
