What ype of holsters are being used? Im thinking about buying a used sewing machine, learning to sew, and making a nice canvas bandolier holster for my 46m.

Having a sewing machine (and learning to sew) can be useful in its own right. If it's just the one project, it might be simpler to find someone with a machine that can help you.

Making a pattern is easy - just wrap newspaper around the object and mark the seam with a pencil. Then add 5/8" and you can pin the pattern to the cloth and cut it out. Where it gets interesting is choosing materials, making closures (flaps, etc.), adding buttons, snaps, zippers, and so forth, and finishing cut fabric edges so they don't fray. That's where a tutor is needed.

Here's a gun sleeve I made. It's about as simple as you can get - a bag with a shoelace. That's where my wife came in. She eliminated the flap that I had planned, and changed it to a drawstring (stronger). She has four machines; she picked the one that would do the best job on thick canvas. She identified spots where I needed to miter the corners (cut them in a way to the fabric doesn't bunch up). She showed me how to do the button holes where the drawstring comes out (more durable). She showed me how to roll the cut edges under to hide them.

I'm sure people (who sew) are reading this and thinking, "of course - how else would you do it?" Once my wife showed me, it made sense, and I could execute the project on my own. I would have been clueless without her help.

Even more important than finding a machine is finding a tutor, I think.

You could also try off-the-shelf airsoft pistol holsters- they are larger than ones for regular handguns and fit all sorts of airguns. The biggest issue with the 46m I would suspect is the extended length front trigger guard/shield.

Ive wanted to get a good sewing machine for a while now, and learn the tricks. I just figured this would be my first project. I like to be able to make anything I need and this will just add to my arsenal Laughing . I like that sleeve you got there. I guess now i just gotta find that tutor lol.

Yeah, the 46m is just such an odd shape. I spent most of my friday looking for a holster locally with no luck. I did see the uncle mikes bandoliers for scoped revolvers online, and they look like they could work. I just havent found anyone carrying one locally, and just dont wanna spend $80 online to find out it doesnt fit when it comes in.

But on the plus side, that trigger guard/shield actually makes a sewing project easier. Instead of having a complex shape (like a revolver or scoped pistol) you have a skewed trapezoid with just four straight lines to worry about (top, bottom, and two slanted sides).

I bought a holster at walmart on a whim and it fits my 2240. Maybe that's the route you might want to look at? maybe It will give you some ideas?

Mine is just a plain old generic crosman holster that I bought at walmart. It cost like 6 bucks? It fits about every pistol I own.
