Goto page 1, 2  Next    View previous topic :: View next topic  Tune/Detune Daystate Air Ranger?   Posted: Sun Dec 14, 2008 10:09 am petrosp New Member Joined: 14 Dec 2008 Posts: 5 Dear All, I am new to the airgun scene but it hasn't taken long to catch the 'bug'. 6 months and I already own a .177 FX Cutlas and 50FPE Daystate Air Ranger. I have been trying to find information on the web on how to tune/detune or modify my Air Ranger but with no success Sad/Cry Does anyone have any guides or could point me in the right direction? Daystates are known to have transfer port and sometimes crown burs. 50 fpe is a bit much for .177 caliber. You might want to look into a .22 caliber barrel for it. It's a good 100 yards gun. Plenty of power. Kodiak / Barracuda requires over 1000 fps to reach 50 FPE.... a 27.8 gr. Eun Jin requires 900 fps.... Since the only way to maintain decent accuracy over long ranges is to stay ABOVE supersonic the whole way, or below about Mach 0.8 (roughly 880 fps) to stay below the transonic range.... I would say 50 FPE is pretty stout for a .22 cal.... For sure, it eliminates all but the heaviest / specialty pellets.... They are my main long distance pellet. It currently shoots the Eu Jins at around 860fps and that is why I would like to increase the power. But the Condor is doing it right out of the box. My cousin and a friend of mine both had to do some barrel work to their Daystates before it would happen though. How much do the Daystates cost?
