Howdy. I'm new to this forum. I've been reading Airgun World, June, 08,
that a Ben Taylor in England has created a new barrel design. It's smooth bore except for the last 4 or 5 inches which has been twisted which give the pellet its spin. There are no lands or grooves. They say it increases velocity and shoots all pellets, light, heavy and any shape to the same excellent accuracy. Could be a big change is on the way. If this thing works like they claim, it's going to shake up the pellet industry and maybe even the firearms industry. The barrel is still in the development stage, but looks and sounds great.

Their points are: it's a smooth twist that's "gentle" to pellets; more energy efficient; it's match accurate.

Sounds interesting- but unfortunately I don't see any of the airgun publications around here.

Which email? I've got like 7 different adresses...one specifically for posting on forums.

Automated "bots" can pick up emails in order to send out spam. By posting your email address in a "locked" forum like the "Rifles" area here, you are limiting this somewhat, but sooner or later an automated parasite will pick it up and the spam will start arriving.

Actually I do agree, not wise to post your email openly. If interested, could PM somebody for permission to swap email adresses. But I still reserved a different email account for this.

As I've said, for security and managment I use mulitple accounts.

1)full name @ ip adress for business purposes such as emailing resume's. No company wants to reiceve a email from some wild or wierd persona you've come up with, right?

2)Secondary email for friends and family. I only give this out if that person removes me from and promises not to include me in any mass mailings.

3)Forum email for joining and using forums such as this one. Again, if I give this one out, one must agree not to add my name to any mass mailings.

4)junk email for all those sites that want to spam you, but you can't order a "free catalog" or ect unless you give them your email adress.

5)My webmaster adress for a website I'm building

6)My Chatroom email adress

7)My video chatroom email adress (not in use now since my cam died).

Even after all these precautions it's still wise to filter your email through a spam filter. I'm not fond of the one that comes with my ip, so I use AVG's freeware virus/spam/bot/adware program.

I like to use disposable e-mail accounts. that way if you get slammed,
just throw it away and use a new one.
