I think you'll find nice people and good info here.

Regardless of manufacturer or price, I've found airguns similar to women. No two exactly alike, but most respond well to careful attention.
Many times out-of-the-box inaccuracy can be attributed stock mounting screws and/or scope mounting screws that are not snug. The first thing I thing I would do is check and snug all screws. Then, run about 50 pellets weighing at least 7.5 grains through it. (Note: PBA's are spring killers) After 50 pellets I would again recheck all screws to see if any have loosened. If any have loosened, consider removing them and cleaning them free of dirt, grease and oil. Then sparingly apply some Locktite 241 or 242 (Blue) thread locker to the screw threads and allow to cure over night.
If you already have not done it, I would pull a patch damp with GooGone through the barrel with trimmer cord, from breech to muzzle a couple three times followed with clean dry patches until they come through clean. The manufacturing process can leave behind some foreign matter that can cause problems.

WalMart often carries Crosman Premier Hollow Point pellets (7.9 gr.), which is basically Crosman's higher quality domed pellet with a dimple in the dome. Now, if your rifle likes the Crosman Premiers, the domed in 7.9 grain(lights) or domed 10.3 grain(heavies), DNR Sports carries the 1250 count boxes for about the best price I've found.

There are many articles written here at AGH as to re-crowning your barrel.
I would suggest you do a re-crown on both ends of your barrel.Many people skip the breech end.This is a critical part of the re-crown process.It is the lead-in for your pellet,if there is a burr at that point it will score your pellet waist causing your pellet to fly all over the place,now on the muzzle end if there is a burr it will cause all kinds of grief and your pellets will fly in different directions because of the spin created by the rifling.
If you want to check for burrs slip a dry Q-Tip into the bore and remove real slow,get a magnifying glass and look for Q-Tip hairs hanging in the bore.Thats where your burr is.
As for pellets I have found Beeman Field Target Special .177 Cal, 8.8 Grains, Round Nose, to be a very accurate pellet in most of my .177's for target use.For hunting you will need a hollow point pellet give these a try they should not change your scope setting as to POI, Beeman Crow-Magnum .177 Cal, 8.80 Grains, Hollowpoint, 500/Tin.
Remember whenever you switch pellets weight is a major factor on where your pellet will hit.Lighter pellets tend to shoot high and heaver pellets tend to shoot low.

Finally if you know how to do a trigger job by all means do this at the same time you re-crown your rifle.Your accuracy is only as good as your trigger pull is.
Hitting the target with a springer rifle is 70% shooter 30% gun.

Thanks for the help. Yesterday I shot a empty spray paint can laying on it's side from 40 yards free standing 5 out of 5 times in a row. I'm pretty happy with that. But will keep trying to improve it. Can you tell me how to re-crown the gun I've never heard of that? I will also check all screws and loc-tite them if needed.
I'm really having fun with this gun. I shot a Crow from about 40 yards the other day. Feathers flew but I didn't knock him down while he was hobbling away I hit him again this time from about 60 yards but he just kept hobbling away he crossed the street and went into my neighbors orchard. Both times I hit it in the wing next time I'll try for a shot from head on and hit it in the chest.

Hey Amigo I checked all the screws I could find and found all of the screws on the right side of the scope rings were loose. So I tighten all of them then took all them out one at a time & put blue loc-tite on them and reinstalled them. I'll keep a closer eye on them from now on.
Yes Dummyracer I did go and find the bird finish it. I should have said that earlier.
Now I'll look for the articles on re-crowning the barrel althrough I did the Q-tip test and the barrel is clean no burrs.

My son and I have done the no-no. We shot a couple of spray paint cans....not empty. Interesting patterns on the target back-stop.

I have an HW77 that I got for a song and it was so nice and shot Crosman Premier and every other Crosman pellet I had into 1.5 inches at 20yds! TERRIBLE for that gun! Freaked out, thought I got robbed! But wiser heads prevailed and it shoots JSB Straton (UNREAL!) And most H&N pellets in one hole at 20 yards. So pellet selection is the first thing to look at...after you make sure all your screws are tight with BLUE Loctite!
