I've had the pieces laying around for months (years?) to bulk-feed a Crosman 1077- just never had time to get it done.

So, what we have here is a hack-job of a bulk-feed adapter for using paintball tanks with the 1077.

What tools does one need? A drill press w/vice, saw, workbench vise, grinding wheel, 7/16-20 LH tap, M8-1 tap and appropriate drillbits and wrenches to connect the bits.

Here's what I started with- Crosman AirSource adapter and 1" aluminum rod:

Next, I cut the rod to a 2 1/4" length, drilled and tapped it to hold the fittings:

Then, took apart the reverse-threaded AS adapter from Crosman to use the feed tube assembly and inserted it (with some teflon tape- perhaps Loctite will need to be used instead) into the aluminum adapter and installed the paintball hose fitting (came with the hose):

Next, install hose:

Then, install on 1077:

Unfortunately, I do not have a paintball tank to hook up right now and test it, but I'm thinking Loctite may do a better job keeping the fittings in place and not leaking under the Co2 pressure.

The reason I did this? The Crosman AirSource Adapter and a full AS cartridge weighs well over a kilogram and a half (3.3lbs) and forces you to hold the gun by the AS cartridge because the forearm is half covered by it. The new "bulk" adapter w/hose weighs right around a kilogram and allows the rifle to be held properly by the forearm.

And- shaddup about my crooked hole causing the adapter to be a bit askew- I had a drill press and some hand taps and nothing else to do this with (I'm not an artisan, obviously). Mr. Green

I won't say a word... I threaded a ASA adapter today and it is crooooooked... Not too bad but... I know it's there...

See
http://airgunhome.com/agforum/viewtopic.php?t=1730

I have the parts to do the bulk on my 1077 but I am using a drop forward for a paintball gun to move the tank up so I can use the stock properly.

I have to make the bracket to attach it to the barrel. I decided that over the stock is a good place for the tank but.... lots of microline to get the Co2 to the dummy... so I decided on the drop forward...

Nice solution there Eric, once you've put a crooked thread in a part then explain that it helps with the gas flow, and that’s what makes the difference between your idea and others. Smile

It's harder to come up with a solution to a problem just using what you have got, but very satisfying. Anybody can go out and buy ready made parts but where’s the fun in that.Thumb Up!

Al

One thing to note on this "specialty" adapter- the teflon tape show in the pictures didn't seal the connections. Locktite medium-strength "blue" did a fine job sealing it, however.

I have a number of decent tools to handle this including a small hatchet and a large club. Hopefully I can remember how to use them. Oh, and I have some loctite...

When in doubt, break out the BFH. Often this works in surprisingly destructive ways!
