1) Target to download and print: Week 64; Dec8/14/2008
Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 20 shots at targets, 2 per ring target maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using red dot on the page.
7) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 points for the black, subtract 1 point for green and no points in the white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for those points. Only two hits per ring target counts. Maximum point count is 200.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others.

New (to me) gun.
New scope.
Tough target for me.
and - After looking at the target closely I marked a 10 where I would now mark a 0, but also a 0 I would have maked a 10 so we're even.

Question - what kind of paper do you all use? I want the nice clean holes that I se other folks post. Standard printer paper and card stock both seem to 'rip' holes no matter what pellets I use.

I find that to get a neat hole with wad cutters I use a normal A4 sheet on top of card, make sure the A4 sheet is dry and crisp also you need the velocity over 350fps.

Geez. I was going to be a smart-a$$ and try to turn in a negative score. Nope; 69/200. As you can see, I only hit one center dot and seven of the rings I was trying to miss. 
Last weekend, I shot a 492/600 in my local 10M match. This is a new best for me in a match. |

Thats pretty good shooting there Sbtzc, shooting 50 or a 100 shots in a competition and getting a good score is ok, but shooting 600 shots in a session is hard work.

Just to clarify, the 10M open air course of fire is 60 record shots in 1 hour, 45 minutes for a possible 600 points. One target per shot (a huge waste of paper for me, but I "recycle" the used targets). There is unlimited site-in shots prior to record shots on 4 targets in that time period. Oh yeah, it's one-handed.
If you get a chance, give it a try. It is the same match as they shoot in the Olympics.
At 492, I was much closer to last then first. The match winner shot a 558  |

10m standing, peep sight 12 minutes or so.
-11/200 (!)
Okay, took one look at the target and realized I had no chance
trying to hit the black rings through a peep sight. (No sight picture!)
So, I decided to be a smart aleck and try to generate a negative score.
(I see sbtzc had the same idea!!!)
So, posted the target and had a go.
Had some nice one-holers, so I'm pretty pleased.
