Air Gun Home Forum Index » General Air Gun Questions and Topics » OK i concede Goto page 1, 2  Next    View previous topic :: View next topic  OK i concede   Posted: Mon Dec 01, 2008 7:29 pm dummyracer36 Senior Member Joined: 21 Sep 2008 Posts: 723 Location: St. Louis, Missouri alright... i admit that my feathers got ruffled a bit when i first joined and there werent too many positive things said about my newest rifle at the time, my Beeman RS-2. i defended it... i took offense... i ignored.... well until 1pm today it HAD been my daily shooter. i was outside, enjoying my monday away from the shop shooting the new spinner target i had made this past weekend. well, after about 75 pellets thru the rifle.... i pull the trigger and...... THUD.... never heard that sound before.... i break the barrel to reload... and the pellet is still in the breach!!! try it a couple more times... same thing.... i dont know what broke, not sure i'm going to find out.... I would have to agree with the lady at Beeman. That's a bit on the high side. Considering you are shooting an inexpensive gun that likely sports a rather thin, cheap spring, you done good. Real good. See if JM has or can recommend a new spring. That poor thing is like one of the those test items where they put something into a machine and cycle it over and over and over to simulate a couple year's wear in a week.   Posted: Mon Dec 08, 2008 6:49 am dummyracer36 Senior Member Joined: 21 Sep 2008 Posts: 723 Location: St. Louis, Missouri its not the spring that broke, it still cocks and fires as usual, it just doesnt create any pressure. and no red feather, i am not joking about the number of shots fired. its how i relax after work. i sit on the deck with a cold drink, and shoot until it gets dark or the wife comes looking for me, which is usually a minimum of 200 pellets down range. while i agree that i shoot it alot, i still wouldnt call it excessive. _________________ "not tonight dear, i have a race in the morning"   Posted: Mon Dec 08, 2008 7:58 am broommaster2000 Moderator Joined: 10 Mar 2007 Posts: 5714 Location: City of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands 200 shots a day isn't excessive use when you have a magazine fed rifle.
