1) Target to download and print: Week 59; Oct/27>Nov/02/2008
Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 24 shots at targets, 1 per "ring" maximum. 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using "center box".
7) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 points for "box", 3 points for "ring", and no points for white. Only one hit per "box" counts. Maximum point count is 240.
9) Please scan or photograph entries and post. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) An honorable contest for sport - to lie or cheat is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others. |

RWS mod 54
Sitting
10 Meters
16x Scope
Time full fifteen minutes - timer went ding as I stood up from last shot.
A dismal 90/240 (6 blue - 10 black)
Struggling a bit tried to cut my trigger finger off with a plastic knife. Stitches are out but finger is still stiff/sore. Will try to post an image later but I'm sure this won't hold up.

Maybe I'm a little dense, but 10 points per box, 3 points per ring...is the point to hit the ring dead center or to tag the box without hitting the ring? Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else but I'm not sure what we're "shooting" for ( ) so to speak. Thanks. |

Hi Paladin
The idea is to hit the blue ring for ten points or you get three for a hit on the black, maximum score per square is ten points, nothing for any white space, with a total of twentyfour shots maximum on the target.
Get your gun out and have a go you might find it a bit of fun. I'll be shooting later this week, away from home at the moment.

So I'm confused. Nothing new
So I shot a 180 if the box = 10 and the ring = 3,...
...or I shot a 163 if the ring = 10 and the box = 3
Oh yeah,... Benelli Kite, one hand, open sights, 5M, RWS Basic, around 7 minutes. |

Okay, little harder looking through the peep at a square, but I thought I'd have a go. Rings seem smaller this time. Not sure I could shoot one in the center and not clip a ring. Well, jerked one shot seriously off, but the others weren't too bad. 12 minutes, Walther LG300XT, 10m standing, Match Diablo = 178/240. (I scored it 10 for a ring, 3 for a box. If it is the other way, I would have a 108)

You got the scoring right here oatring, nice shooting. Unfortunately I have been away part of this week and since I returned it's rained each day, so no shooting this week.

Hey CW you have to shoot at least one target on this forum then you can see the photos.

| Sorry, didn't get a chance to get out back this week, but I do intend to participate. Maybe I can this week, I hope. |

Looking at 23ib0d0n's post I think I may have got it wrong this week, The way it reads is 10 for the box and 3 for the ring.
So hit the black square and the scpre is 10, hit the blue ring and you score 3.
Sorry about that guys.

New guy to the board and to the comp. Trying to score this weeks target.
2 General Questions
1. I have my 16.4 foot range clearly marked. But.... It that where my forwrd foot goes, or can the barrel of the gun not cross that mark??
2. If the pellet 'touches' the line, is it a score or does MOST of the pellet have to punch the line. (I'm an accountant - Do I round up or round down???)
More specific to this target, I squeezed one shot inside the box but outside the circle, touching both. If a touch counts as a score, what do I do if I touched both the circle and square?
Sorry, I'm learning...
edit... scan failed and I already tore up the target, If I scored it right it's a 123/240, but no image so no entry.

Hi Bean, Welcome to AirGunHome
In answer to you questions:
1.
The distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.
All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it.
Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.
2.
If you are touching the line then it counts, if you touch both lines then the higest scores.
We have all got to learn, in fact this week is a bit of of a cockup, people being confused about the scoring and me giving out the wrong information.
Never mind a new week starts tomorrow.
