Thanks, I actually meant to watch that on How It's Made, and forgot to watch it.

It's weird for me hearing a british guy narrate how it's made...

It appears every country has a different narrator for that show. UK-one person, US another, Canada again another- how about down under?

China might be interesting...

I remember someone telling how odd it was when they were in Japan to see Marshal Dillion in Gun Smoke walk around his desk and then start talking in Japanese.

We just have the Brit. In the Netherlands we usually have a habit of leaving stuff unchanged. The only problem is that lately kids shows have been dubbing foreign series, resulting in really ugly things.

Could you elaborate on the dubbing?

Dubbing is a word that is used when an original series voices are redone by voice actors. This happens a lot with cartoons, but it also happens in most countries with a lot of movies. The thing is, in the Netherlands, this only happens with childrens TV and movies. Most "real" series are left in the original language, allthough lately we have seen a lot of these English to Dutch (or German to Dutch) dubs. It's ugly, and makes my ears bleed.

The thing is, that when you do it with a cartoon/animated series, it's not that conspicuous, however voice sync usually sucks bum when you apply it to real series.

Off course, when one is used to original animated series, a dubbed version will sound a lot weirder to.
