Jaxom, I have run my Condor on both nitrogen and air and cannot
notice any difference at all. The nitrogen made the report a little
louder maybe (it could just be me as I have no decibel meter). |

See, even though I live near the great lakes, and they are very large bodies of water... Just too blasted cold for a major scuba diving hobby in my area. Last time I checked, closest scuba shop is a full day trip away from me. Not all that convient.
Then I'm also thinking, since I'm a welder, I could get Co2 or nitrogen from local welding supply store cheaper then a specailty scuba store anyways, and I've got one of those places 5 mintues from my house.
I would however be concerned that I would be limiting the potential of any pcp gun by using a gas other then air. I'd love for someone that has a pcp gun that has perhaps tried running their gun using these different gasses and what type of performace they got was. Even better if they ran a chrono during this too! |
Just going from what i've read and experienced through paintball..
C02 is not good for cold climates. It's pressure will dramatically decrease.
As for nitrogen...
What is air made up of?
78% nitrogen.
As long as you can get it at pressures above 3000psi, you won't see a difference in performance. Run a regulator on the big tank and set it to a few hundred psi below your rifle's max pressure, and fill 'er up.

Well, make a realistic wish and it might actually come trough (blows out candles). 
I for myself have a kind of weakness to rather affordable airguns, in comparison for un-reasonably expensive airguns.  Even if I would have the money to afford a Daystate, I wouldn't buy one (except off course, when it's used, and about € 300 or $ 385. )) |

| I've stayed with springer and such for that reason. I really never looked seriously at a PCP, due to the monitary outlay. |

I think that the difference is big enough, that if I couldn't outright afford
a PCP, I would save up for one, little by little, until I had enough to
acquire one. I guess that I'm hooked. |

I think there's something to owning more then one gun. I sort of relate this to my other favorite passion...FISHING. Now I'm not about to off with my 7' ultra lite rod matched with a small spinner reel spoolled with 4lb test and expect to catch a musky. Nor would I go pan fishing with a med heavy rod, a bait caster and 20lb kevlar test for blue gills.
Just as we much as CW loves his precious Condor, you'll also notice he has a varied collection of different types of other a/g's. Have to match the tool to the job. We may indeed have a fondness or hold reserve a special place for one particular piece in our collections we do see the need for having other pieces as well. It certainly wouldn't be friendly of any of us when our bestest buddies comes over and wants to go pliking or go on pest control patrol, and you couldn't hand them a piece as well, now would it. Or God forbid...what if your favorite piece is down for repair???!!! What will you do when being invaded by a hord of bazerker squirrels???
And if none of any of that ment anything to you, you could always fall back on the old saying...

hmmm, this is a tough one. i already have one PCP, my Benji Disco, which is an awesome gun, but theres so many great guns to be had out there. i dont think i could narrow it down to just one. definately top on the list would have to be a Quackenbush bigbore, either a .50 cal or the .308. another gun that i would highly prize would be the FX Super Swift in .22 with the walnut stock. but lets not forget the Condor... in .25 please.... with all the goodies that can be bolted on i could start to relate with my wife's urge to buy accessories for every outfit she owns.........
dammit..... now i have mentally spent all my spare money for the next 3 years....... |
