I don't know, it's still a Gamo.
Check out BSA Airguns. You'll see a few springers that are quite obviously Gamo's with a different name. |

| So it's made by BSA to Gamo's specs? |

| Maybe up to a certain point. Did you ever shoot a real BSA? |

Hi fellow airgunners,
I really need your help to figure the pros and cons between the Gamo Huneter Extreme 22 and Benjamin-Sheridan Super Streak 22. I want to buy one of these, but I am pretty confused. I have read negative and positive comments, but they don't seem to be consistent, I can't seem to identify a trend in favor or not or why. What are your personal experiences with these rifles?
I would appreciate any feedback or advice,
Many Thanks,
Johnny. |

I don't think anyone has yet to definitively prove the Gamo is made by BSA. So, that being said, it may not be a "quality" rifle.
Broom and I had mistakenly thought the Benjamin was a pumper- so the first comments about pump vs. break-barrel are irrelevant.
I think at this point the Benjamin is going to be the better rifle based on the info we do have. Anyone here ever own one or both of them? |

| The Gamo Hunters are based on English designs. Gamo bought out BSA a while back if you haven't heard. Don't know who makes the BSS. Could be Turkish for that matter. One thing I have seen as a downside on the BSS is the overall length. One looooong gun. Not conducive to field toting. The Gamo's have marginal triggers but there are a couple of drop in trigger mods for under $40 down to a few bucks which transform them. I don't know if the BSS can take these mods. I would go with the Gamo. |

| Yeah, but if we're talking about a specific platform to go and modify- then perhaps neither of these rifles are the best choices. Can we assume johnny wants the best "out of the box" experience, or that he will be modding it? Johnny? |

| I'll search around a bit on the Dutch forum, to see what owners like or dislike about it. |

Hi Guys,
Yes, that's right, best out of box is what I am looking for with focus on accuracy & quality. I'm not a nit picker, I am a believer that these rifles deserve a look and possibly a purchase - they have to shoot well and they got to last. However, I can't bring myself to take a chance and throw hard-earned money out the window, so I'm asking for your help. I can also accept that neither is any good and that I should look elsewhere, like at Weihrauch for example - that's an OK conclusion too!
Many Thanks to you all, I really appreciate your help!
Johnny. |

I've read on the Dutch forum that they're both pretty good rifles. The Blue Streak seems to have a surprisingly good finish and lives pretty much up beyond expectations. I've read that, with practice, they can be capable of 100 yard plinking.
The Gamo is the same story as always. Reasonable but needs work. I'd go for the Gamo because I don't like the stock.
I personally think pretty much every spring rifle needs work though. |

| Question is, is the Gamo with the $40 trigger mod (pretty simple from what I have seen and read) better than the Sheriden with no mod? The trigger upgrade is a nice piece and definitely adds to the rifle IMHO. |
