I'm wanting to buy a RepeatAir 1077, also I was going to get the Crosman red dot sight, AND the weaver rails. I was wondering if the 1077 would accept these rails. Here are the links to the items:

Just curious, what do you intend on using the 1077 for? I have one, might be able to give you some pointers.

Target shooting, maybe kill some crows, or squirrels, they eat all our pecans from the tree.

Okay. As I said, I have a 1077. I bought it just on a spur of the moment thing a few years back. But in all honesty, the're not that great of a rifle. They really don't have the range. I never shoot at anything over 10 yards myself. To make them accurate, you really need to take it apart and do a barrel crown job. Since these are on the low end of the scale of what Crosman sells, the really didn't do alot of QC on them.

That's not to say you can't have fun with them! If you do a forum search for "1077" you will see how some folks have dressed up thier 1077's with aftermarket stuff. But all that does cost money. If you want something that's going to be good right out of the box, I think many folks would agree the Crosman Quest would be a better deal. Most stores sell them for $99.99. And many of them come packaged with a scope for that same price. Just have to shop around locally.

Good Luck,

Jax

I think the Crosman accesssories you have listed are specific to the NightStalker- not the 1077.

The rail, I'm not sure how it mounts to the Nightstalker- but I would gamble that if it fit on any other airgun- Crosman would have mentioned it.

Also, the Red Dot Sight appears to be misleading- the picture shows a scope, not a red-dot, so you may not get what you expect.

Here is the NightStalker: http://www.crosman.com/site/listing/1296

I don't know why it isn't linked through the Crosman menu- but the fact it's accessories are all on "special" until early January, I bet it is about to be discontinued.

Anyways, back to the 1077- as was mentioned; typically they need to be re-crowned and have the barrel tube stabilized for them to be accurate- but they can do well for 10-15m (30-45feet) shooting. Certainly not a competition rifle, but it can be loads of fun with that 12-shot magazine.

I was thinking that the 1077 was a good rifle for long rang and short. What I was wanting is a semi auto rifle that shoots 15-40 meters. Does anyone know a good rifle to those specifications? Also I was wanting it to be about 100 to 130 US dollars

Hate to say this, but not really. Eric is right, the 12 round clip is fun to shoot. But it's really not all that powerful or accurate. To get the power/range that you desire, you need a single shot rifle. That's why I suggested the Quest. That's actually next on my list for a purchase.

If you're really lucky you may even find one of the .22 versions of it. .22 pellet guns hits a bit harder. Even if you're only shooting pests, it's still best to do so humanly. A .22 achieves this. That's not to say a .177 won't do the job, it will, I know, I've done it and ate the results for dinner!.

Your criteria cannot be matched- there are no medium-to-long-range, semi-auto rifles available in that price range (or anywhere near it really). About the closest you might get would be the Umarex/RWS/Hammerli AirMagnum 850- at about $100 more. Here's a link to give you an idea: http://www.pyramydair.com/p/rws-850-AirMagnum-air-rifle.shtml

I concure with the guys... Not a hunting gun.... but one hell of a plinker...

Here some of the fun stuff that I put into my 1077 Tactical...

If you want rails...

You start off with one of these...
Dove tail to Weaver Rail adapter...
http://cgi.ebay.com/UTG-DOVETAIL-3-8-WEAVER-PICATINNY-7-8-RAIL-ADAPTER-PM_W0QQitemZ230300067452QQihZ013QQcategoryZ52510QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

Then if you need more rails... But you have to drill holes in your shroud...

Add rail screwed into the stock for your bipod...
Then add a lot more parts...

Then you can have fun Day & Night... Twisted Evil Mr. Green

Joe

Ya, the 1077 isn't primarily a hunting rifle. The crow killing would probably go ok, squirrels if you are close (15 or so yards). But I like the little rifle. I have 3. I have one of the discontinued 1077Ws and 2 others I've "cosmeticed" up. You can make your own barrel stabalizer, just something to steady the barrel inside the shroud (I made 2 out of cpvc). I put scopes on them and have mounted short rails in place of the rear open sight on both the synthetic stocked versions. it will take lasers etc. I'm not sure if it would be too far forward for a red dot, I don't really care for red sights so haven't a lot of experince with them.

There are also rails that will fit the three eighths dovetail for a scope. If you are careful you can also drill the outer stock, just don't pirce the co2 sleeve.

The 1077 is inexpensive and lends itself to all kinds of modifications it's a fun rifle, but not made for hunting.

So I might as well get a good semi auto pistol? And then get a semi shot rifle.

Like I said before, I was thinking that it was more accurate and had longer range than a stock mac 10 that got its barrel half ripped out.

Well, you did, I remembered I'd seen them, but to be honest...couldn't remember which thread Embarassed .

For hunting, with Co2, go with a bolt action, the Hammerli (RWS) 850. There isn't a good semiauto that I know of for hunting. They are all really double action rather than semiauto, except for the Night Stalker or the Beretta CX4 which use part of the CO2 to auto cock the rifle.

The 1077 is fun and like the co2 pistols you mention that is it's biggest selling point.

Well if you do get the ever fun loving,1077... Right out of the box you sometimes get what we all call the "Random Flier"... Crosman did not stabilize the barrel that well... So... We who have them, have learn to adapt...

Simply put... you need a tight fitting bushing to place behind the sight to hold the barrel stable in the outer shroud while still allowing the barrel to slide to remove the occasional jammed pellet...

I chose Delrin because it does a great job of both... It holds the barrel tight and Delrin is self lubricating allowing the barrel to slide…

And the plus is… If you plan on using a Muzzle Brake… You can use the stabilizer to replace the front sight so you don’t have to file it off…

BTW… If any one needs a replacement sight… I have extras for sale… He, he…

One of my customers went from 10/12 in a silver dollar size group at 10 yards with 2 fliers to, 12/12 into a nickel size group… He went on to say… it was a great ego stroke… Laughing

Now… don’t I sound like a salesman Twisted Evil … Yuck…

Know that any way you slice it... you will need to stabilize the barrel if you get one...
