Thanks to some help rec'd here on the forum, I ordered a Leapers mount for my new RWS side cocker.

It came to day and it appears to be everything the RWS "C" mount wasn't.

It goes on right, locked down tight and looks like bucks well spent.

Was going to sight it in and shoot today, but the new patio cover took more time today then I expected. 75 - 85% done and it sure will be nice not to shovel snow away from the back door this winter, plus next summer it will be greatly !!! enjoyed.

However, it did keep me from shoot'in!

Frankly I can see no way a mount like the "C" mount can ever be satisfactory long term. There are just far, far to many screws and adjustments to shoot loose.

If the Leapers hadn't come to light, I probably would have ended up using Acraglas stock bedding resin on all the screws in the hopes of making something usable from the "C" mount.

For many years, it has been my "go to" solution for fixing just about anything.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

CDOC

I'm glad it worked out well for you. I am also glad that Leapers has at least one product that works the way it should- I've never had much issue with their "accessory" items, but their handling of warranties on scopes I have never been too excited about.
