While I have been asking about rifles in the other forum, I'm still pretty much set on getting a 2240 first. Mainly because it's portable and I can modify it to enough to make it a worth while hunting gun.

The first modifcation would be to get a boss valve for bulk in there. And that's what I would like to ask about here. I like the concept of using a paint gun Co2 tank as the stock. I just can't see paying extra for a 2250xt, when I won't be using that stock and I'm going to modify the Co2 adapter anyways. Might as well start out with the 2240 and go from there.

I've seen what yourdaddyjoe has attempted to do, and I've seen pictures of this modification other sites as well. But no comments or instructions on how to do this modification. If anyone has a link or such, I would really like to read it, so I know what I'm getting myself into.

Don't know of any links but... Eric has talked me into making a kit.

I have located a company about 40 miles from me who makes a blank ASA adaptor that I can turn on the lathe and have it directly replace the tail plug on the 22xx crosmans making for an extra clean install.

Once I do that, I can put the kits together with instructons and a templet to drill the gas tube on the guns.

I will be making the first run out of my shop and then farming the machining out to that company for the adaptor.

Too many ideas and not enough shop to run more than one item at a time.

I have other big fish to fry before I can dive into it right now.

I agree, YUCK! Ever try getting to your favorite fishing hole or go metal detecting in the woods? A long pole with wires, fishing line, or in this case gas hose hanging off them is just begging to get snagged!

To this I'm going to get the boss valve, a crosman metal breech until I can afford one of R&J's fancy jobs.

I'm sorta confused about Crosman's pricing on barrels though. I think I wanna stay at a 14" long one for portablity's sake. Odd thing though, is the 14.6" pistol barrel is 53.67 and the 14.6" carbine barrel is $69.44. Wierd thing about this, in the schematics that I downloaded from crosman, the barrels look like they're the same connection wise. Why the price difference?

It'd be really sweet if I could get a 14" walther barrel to stick on there! Any other companies make barrels that'll fit the 22xx series?

??? 14" Crosman barrels are $69.00?

Whose barrels are we talking about? A 14" barrel from Crosman itself for the 22xx guns is around $15-20

If you want a 14" Walther barrel- that's a different story- but Crosman has a 10.1" version for around $50.00

I was going by the prices Crosman quotes under the "build a custom pistol or carbine". In as much as crosman doesn't have an online parts store that I can look up the actual prices. I would have of course called when from what you say, been pleasantly surprised that it's much lower.

I know quite well what you're talking about. Neighbor friend of mine need some minor welding done. My mig was just sitting there collecting dust, so I did it for him. Now suddenly he and a few other nieghbors have all these "take you a few minutes" type projects they want me to do! Gas and mig wire don't grow on trees! Oy!
