Hi Bob nice to see you’ve finely got the disco sorted to your liking, my first impressions of Crosmans latest rifle were that it was a basic PCP with limited possibilities, but you have proved different.

It appears that you have a winner there Bob, but I think you get carried away with the Bling-bling you must get confused between your motor cycle’s and gun’s, at least you didn’t put a rear light in that shiny butt. Laughing

It's not going to be of much use without the
rear light. I mean, how are you going to see behind
you in the dark when you shoot.

No doubt, I recently bought mine is a .22 caliber and I"m intersted in doing some work to it , well not as much as you did but I really would like to get the muzzle break to eliminate the noise and about the butt spacer I"m already working on one , where can I buy the muzzle break and is it hard to install ? and again nice gun .

Ok , in order to be able to instal the muzzle break the oroginal fitting in the rifle has to be removed to install the one in the kit ( small piece on pictures ) that's going to look like this http://www.mountainaircustomairguns.com/Large_accessories_pages/Large_2260D_shroud.htm and I really dont like the litlle plastic cap it has on the front end , it would be nice if I could use the original cap in the rifle to make look like BBGun Bob's rifle , here's how he's looks like http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aV14I9C I think he had the extra room because he installed the 2260 barrel spacer , any way I'm not going to use it any more unless I get a litlle advise on how to do it for now I'm putting it away if any one is interested in geeting the kit , is the one made of aluminum I painted it black to match my gun send me a PM and we can work somethin out, thanks for reading , and keep shooting safe.

Your favorite States Attorney has a Case cite already established for putting your butt in prison for up to 15 yrs here in the US if you don't have a permit for that particular silencer. Having a shroud/silencer (that lowers report by only 1 decible) that can be removed an affixed to a firearm by any means is the same charge as having a Machine gun per the Sulivan act of 1938. And don't dare send it through the mail. Don't take it from me,Ask the expert Tom Gaylord. If you trust this government to let you slide on this your "Absolutly Nuts" . Don't let the government let you hang yourself. An airgunner is already doing a stretch for shipping an airgun with a shroud apart in the same pakage. We have to start thinking here.

Go to Pyramyd chat room. Look for Tom Gaylord's piece on Shrouds/silencers . A lot of us guys here think I'm just trying to rain on their little fun parade. I just don't want to feed the monster with the likes of us airgunners.

I forgot to ask where you are. Now, If your are where Alstone (UK ?) is you are fine. But not here in the bad ol USA.

A shroud or brake is perfectly legal- as long as if doesn't reduce the sound coming out the muzzle. Silencers are also perfectly legal- if you have the appropriate permit from the BATF.

Eric, All a shroud has to lower your factory sound level is 1 decibel to be a silencer by law. You mean to tell me almost any of these after market shrouds won't lower your factory report by at least 3 or four decibels ? Thats why a lot of guys like them. It's not always for making their airgun look cool ! I respect your opinion on everything airgun related but this per the legal facts. The only way you can run a sound deadening device totally legally on an airgun is for it to be a permanent part of the airgun (unless you have a permit). And I mean it can't be construed to be removable in any way.So it can't be affixed to a firearm at a later time. Sad but true. Please don't barr me for this. This is my favorite airgun site. If you still don't agree. Please show me where I am wrong per US or state law. I personally would love to be proven wrong with something that would hold up in court. PS I am not including solid (non hollow) muzzle brakes in this debate

I don't think we are, in fact, disagreeing on anything- look above- a silencer is only a silencer if it reduces sound coming out the muzzle, which you yourself have stated.

With the appropriate Federal permit, however, silencers are legal- assuming of course your specific state doesn't have a ban on them (which is entirely possible- California, as an example, has such a ban in place).

As for the silencers/suppressors posted around here- remember that alot of members are not in North America and their laws are different. Alstone, for example, is in the UK and can almost go to the corner store and buy a silencer any day of the week (I don't know what days the corner store is open- Mr. Green

).

A lot of people don't know that a silencer in itself is considered a firearm by Fed US law (go figure) This is why legal ones are serial numbered. This means that if somehow you were able to get a permit for a shroud/silencer (proven to be sound deadening) .Even though you are carrying an airgun. If it has a sound deadening device on it you are technically in posession of a firearm. And then in your particular situation must adhear to firearm regulation with your airgun. read..you better not be a convicted felon and/or better not be in the middle of the city shooting pigions with a silencing shroud "by law anyway". I'm shure a lot of guys get lucky and never get called on it by a cop. But I don't roll the dice like that personally. I just make the noise I need to make. And hope I don't get a misdomeanor ticket for using an airgun where I shouldn't be. I am reffering to the USA only here. Not going to claim I know everything abraud. They are pretty easy to get here in Washington if you are not a criminal.
A couple hundred bucks, a little mountain of paperwork, a few weeks
wait and you'll be silently blasting stuff in no time.
