I was looking around on Pyramyd and straightshooters and noticed a huge price difference on the RWS 54.

http://www.straightshooters.com/rws/r54pricing.html

How can that be? Over $100 cheaper at straightshooters.

Old stock. Straight shooters is pretty well known for telling customers that they really are 'stoopid' for getting a tune. Some of us 'stoopid' folks just prefer to not do business with folks that have that attitude. Probably slows sales a bit?

Amen! I just had to cosign that.

I am one of those stoopid people too.

It's just that it is hard not to prefer a tuned gun over
a factory stock one once you shoot one.

I have purchased most of my guns from Pyramyd, still there are three or four places I would use. When I'm looking for a specific gun I usually do some price comparisons. There is always the chance of a sale or an overstock.

I must say that the 54 Airking looks and feels like a monster. I few weeks back I was somewhere down south (Staphorst, Netherlands) visiting Hans Krale's shop. He had one laying around. To bad they're so darn expensive, because I'd like to own one. Shocked

Rather weird, it was the first shop where I've been in the Netherlands where they had Airguns next to Firearms. I saw a cute little CZ Tactical there too:

I'd like that to be my first fire-arm. To bad that we now have a summer break at the club so I have to wait till august to continue getting turns. Mr. Green

Shooting turns equals fire-arm practice equals the club's approval of buying a fire-arm. They also decide that you get a liscence for the rifle, along with the police.

If it was a few bucks, $10-15 then I would avoid them, pay more somewhere else. But given it is $110, than my attitude is that they are a vendor, I don't care to hear thier take on things, just sell me the gun and be doen with it.

It doesn't really matter, since I'm not looking to drop $500 on a air gun. I see a RWS 34 in my near future, with some tuning from CW it will be a nice addition to my gun safe. I have to fill this thing!

That little bit of money is less than an hour of overtime.
Me?
Of course, I'd just as soon send that to a tuner with a used rifle and actually have a nice smooth shooting bbgun . . .

This one was less than 5 bills with the tune{link}, and although the Optisan MTC{link} with mounts cost more than the rest of the rig, it really can drive tacks.
Typical 10mm groups at 50m using JSB exacts at a very consistant 930fps with nearly motionless behavior.
Not to bad at all, considering the price of a Whiscombe FT rig, well that and Mr Whiscombe is no longer taking orders . . . Rolling Eyes
