I have a sling fitted to my TX and the front swivel is fastened to the cocking lever by a clamp, this when bought was made to fit 13.5 mm to 14.5 mm which covers the TX and Weihrauch HK, the problem with this is that a shim is provided to shim out the TX barrel to the size of a Weihrauch so that the clamp fits, and this works alright for a time but comes lose after a while and scratches the under leaver, plus if you give it a good pull you can pull the cocking leaver open.
My solution to this problem is by fastening the swivel to the cocking lever connecting arm, all this requires is a 3mm hole drilled through this arm. There is plenty of room for the swivel connector as Air Arms have put a half round cut out in the cocking lever support bracket, whether AA had the same idea at some time or other I don’t know, but it just falls right for this mod.
I machined the bracket from solid steel, but you can make it in three pieces if you do not have a milling machine, using a vice to bend the metal, I fastened the bracket to the cocking arm connecting lever using a threaded pin but you can use any method that suits you, if you make it out of three pieces then use a nut and bolt, you may also need to shave a bit of wood off the slot where the cocking lever connecting arm sits to accommodate the mod.
Have Fun
Al

Very cool Al, that trick would work for some of the break barrels linkage as well. I'll be sure to 'borrow' that idea in the near future |

I'm not sure if it will work with light break barrels, as some are so darn easy to cock. |

I see your point Anton but! the distance from the pivot point to the end of the barrel is probably 10 times what the distance is from the same point to the swivel bracket, so the energy required to break the barrel whould have to be 10 times greater than using the barrel. QED.

Just checking, neighbour. I can see a first class moron going ahead with the job and then finding out that his rifle clicks open while carrying it.
Remember that Slavia I got? It was just to easy to cock, so I tightened the bolt that keeps the breech to the hinge. |
