| With pleasure. I have to go in to work early today (safety committee), but I'll dig the stuff out when I get home. Expect an answer around 0500 CDT (1000 GMT, or UTC, or Zulu, or whatever they call it these days). |

Hey guys, just to keep things tidy, might it be an idea to use the personal message service on this forum? |

| Technical info is always good to have posted publicly- but I'm going to move this to the "pistols" area of the board... |

| Roger that. I will try to be more subforum specific next time. |

Is this what you are looking for? I get a diameter of 0.098", which is 2.489 mm (using 1 meter=39.37" for conversion).

Is that the original size or have you enlarged it?
Mine was way smaller. Maybe 1.25-1.5 mm. |

My fault! I went back and rechecked and I had read the drill size wrong.
I bored it out to 4 mm. It must have been too late last night.
Thanks for your measurement, Slavia. |

No problem with the measurement.
A 37 FPS increase doesn't seem like much, but at this scale it represents an 18% increase in kinetic energy (which is not trivial).
Could you expand on what you meant by "more consistent"? |

I surely will expound on that statement. I am experiencing a narrower
standard deviation spread after said modification. |

You were quite right, CW. I bored mine out to 0.125" (a shade over 3mm), and here is what happened:
BEFORE (0.098")
Mean=409 FPS
S.D.=4.84
Min.=401 FPS
Max.=415 FPS
AFTER (0.125")
Mean=414 FPS
S.D.=1.37
Min.=411 FPS
Max.=415 FPS
So as you said, a slight increase in (average) velocity and a noticeable improvement in spread. Going to 4mm (like you did) might give me more velocity, but I'm happy with this as it is. |

Have you tried decreasing compression chamber head space yet?
I tried it on mine and got it up to 465 fps with lasers, but accuracy
was so poor as to make the pistol unusable (5 inch groop at 10 yards).
To decrease head space I created a squish band (ala-motorcycle
engine) at the end of the chamber. It also upped the cocking force
to where the cocking lever deflected at an alarming angle.
Needless to say, I returned it to it's OEM compression ratio. |
