Hello

I was hoping you guys could help an amateur with something. I just bought a Beretta Cx4 Storm, assault rifle. I bought it because I liked the idea of a semi-automatic rifle. I have a Bushnell 1.5-4.5x wide angle scope on Weaver mounts (to clear the sights) I dont have a gun license, so I had to get the 495 or less one. I noticed that at 30 feet, it puts the pellets within a quarter inch o f the bullseye. But at 60 feet, I get a 6 inch spread. Is there anything I can do to make this air rifle more accurate at 60 feet? I am using copperhead dome pellets. Gun is CO2, 88G(paintball cylinder)

The gun is known for it's inaccuracy. You could try different pellets. but 30 feet isn't that far away in the first place so I'm not astounded by it being that capable of doing alright grouping.

You can try another type of pellet- often this will change things. The other thing is to make sure the gun is rested on something- any movement at the barrel end and the longer the target distance- the more sway/movement there will be at the point of impact.

One other thing to try is using a heavier pellet- a typical 8gr .177 pellet may be getting kicked around by wind due to it's rather low mass.

Lastly, if you have a "maximum 495fps" rifle- that means just that - "maximum"- normally guns that have been intentionally detuned are putting out far far less than the stated "maximum"- so finding out what the gun is outputting and looking at getting it closer to a legitimate 495fps might be worthwhile.

This video review of the CX4 shows that although fun for plinking, it proved to be rather inaccurate.

Thanks so much for your input. Since my last post, I have changed the pellets and my groupings are closer, but not by much. I agree that this air rifle is VERY inaccurate and will pay closer to attention to reviews before the purchase of the next one.
